How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No buffet breakfast those days, just a package with food to receive at reception.
It wasn’t very crowded those days, so it felt calm and peaceful. You can watch from the window how kids are training at the stadium. it’s clean and well-maintained.

It’s a bit far away from the center of the city, but you can get bus, taxi or walking.
The breakfast is basic but it’s good and tasteful. Staff of the hostel is very friendly and helpful. the rooms and the bathroom are clean.

Some bugs (silverfish) were living in the women's shower room. No oatmilk at breakfast.
Comfortable beds! Nice breakfast. Pretty surroundings. Good parking.

Not quite in the city center
Large, bright rooms with balconies and blinds, plenty of showers and toliets, parking and free breakfast, the receptionist didn't speak English, but she prepared instructions for us in Czech

There was no air conditioner in the room, so it was really hot and almost impossible to sleep. Also walls are really thin, and you can hear everyone banging their doors.
Everything was clean, staff was nice.

Tamme Hostel offers a wide range of opportunity to stimulate all of your vision, hearing, smelling and tactile sensors range. The highest odds for this to occur is on Friday or weekend evening when hostel is occupied by youthful and vibrant guests, providing with variety of different noise stimulation activities up to 2 AM in an unsupervised environment. One can never miss an alarm set for an early morning, as hostel has taken care of that problem by providing a guaranteed wake up by numerous of slamming doors, which provide both: vibration and noise stimulus helping you to rise and shine on this otherwise dull Sunday morning. A unique pattern which can be observed and enjoyed on radiators in the breakfast area, revives the memories and jollyness of the previous feasts this room had pride to host in the past. Some minorities who are into voyerism have a chance to enjoy theirs hobby at this hostel (given the chance that they will luckily get the room on the second floor, with an access to the balcony). If you get bored in your room, there is a bonus activity for Lego or Ikea fans: construct your fallen (from the touch) radiator back into the original shape. Smells from the communal bathroom are guaranteed to teleport you back into your childhood kindergarten memories, you thought you have forgotten long time ago. Overall, quite an unique experience to have and its up to you, if you like this kind of stuff or not. (I believe there are certain admirers of hostel vibe and I certainly can understand why). Actually, for the same amount of money it is possible to find a decent accomodation in Tartu.
The hostel has a certain kind of youthful spirit of freedom and vibrant energy. Realistically, this has both positive and negative sides. The communal areas and rooms were spotlessly clean. Location is one of the kind. Very good sporting and outdoor facilities for the whole family. Good, proper ventilation in the rooms

noise, location hard to find, “breakfast” in a bag when checking in in the evening! directions to nearby shop completely inaccurate and a complete failure.
I honestly cannot think of anything really positive, and I am sorry for that.

1) At breakfast you can have very limited options: white or dark bread, sliced cheese or sausage, margarine (not butter), porridge (I think rice) and musli. 2) All doors are equipped with automatic closing mechanism but without slowing down feature, well.... imagine what door slamming action it is when everyone returns to the rooms at evening..... not to mention early mornings when some are getting up at 6:30. 3) I've been in many hostels in different countries but this was the first time I've ever seen shared showers without any type of showering gel. Usually there is dispenser with some cheap gel but not here.
Friendly staff. Free parking at location. Available fridge, tea cattle, dishes. Extra beds if needed.
