Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI really wanted to use the pool, but the lagoon pool was more lagoon green and cloudy, then blue. I thought it was better to be safe than risk it. On my check out day they were trying to address the issue by shocking the pool water with chemicals. I suspect they were in a low seasonal period, and with higher temperatures didn't take the best care in treating the pool.
Fantastic apartment type living with modern appliances. Simply amazing in rural Egypt. Even the restaurant was good. Breakfast was okay, but I did have the best omelette I have had in Egypt. I really enjoyed my time and have no issues recommending it.

United KingdomLots of bugs in the gardens but I was told this was to be expected near the lake too. They are fine as they leave you alone - you have to ignore them.
I travelled to Abu Simbel to visit the temples at a time when it was not busy to enjoy the experience without the crowds. I am happy I decided to stay over with this resort. It was stunning, peaceful and I had a comfortable stay. I was upgraded into a suite with a pool and lake view, which made my stay very comfortable indeed. The pool area was relaxing to sit and read, whilst enjoying the sunshine under a shade. The outdoor gardens had the most amazing view of the sunrise and sunset. The kitchen staff were good with accommodating my vegetarian requests and providing me with a takeaway breakfast box for my early start day. The suite itself was everything you could ask for. It had a spacious lounge area with sofas and a TV, with a separate kitchen/counter and dining table. The corridor led to a toilet / shower room with bath robes. The bedroom was plush with many pillows, an iron / board, a wardrobe, dressing area and a TV. I cannot describe how homely and spacious this suite was - it was perfect against the backdrop of a beautiful outdoor setting. It was a perfect ending to my trip to Egypt before returning to Cairo to head back home. Hany at reception was good with ensuring everything was organised for me, such as transportation and a guide to the temple. He also organised a car for me to drive back to Aswan airport (as flights were being delayed at Abu Simbel). The kitchen / room service staff as well as the pool staff and cleaning staff were highly professional. Excellent service!

United StatesThe restaurant selection of food is not great. It’s a fixed menu every night and not that inspirational. i’m sure they will improve it when they start getting more guests. when we were there, it was practically empty which was nice for us. The hotel is about 3 miles outside of a small town with few restaurant choices.
It’s brand new, very quiet, walled compound. Huge pool, and a gorgeous setting on lake Nasser.

This resort is truly magic and amazing! We really enjoyed our stay even though it was only for 1 day. The location is superb with beautiful views of Lake Nasser. The gardens so well kept and with such a variety of flowers, trees and local birds! Lovely! Accommodation clean, spacious and very nicely decorated. Food delicious. And staff, what can we say! The highlight without a doubt, all staff from waiters to chefs to managers, they could not be more helpful, attentive and enchanting. Thank you so much everyone for making our stay so special! We loved it! 😃

IndiaThe food options may be increased. But why spend time writing and reading reviews. Because there are some places you just have to be there "to be there".
Firstly the property is very big and well decorated with awesome view of the lake Naseer.Secondly the staff were very welcoming and give you a home like feeling as we got lucky to have a upgradation of the room from suite to a mini flat with various complimentary addons.Lastly the location is very close to the Abu Simbel temple and the lake as well.I would like to mention the name of the Reception manager Hany for his cordial behavior and other staff like Basma. All over it was a very pleasant stay and would like to recommend others to visit The Lagoon resort to have wonderful time. The 3 hour journey from aswan to abu simbel through the desert road was also once in a lifetime experience.

AustraliaThey are just starting up , so the internet connection needs some work . Menu was somewhat limited , BUT once staff discovered my friend was fluent in Egyptian Arabic , it didn’t matter because they were willing to prepare us any and I mean ANY local delicacy .
Quiet isolation with a level of unparalleled luxury, I have laughingly renamed our villa , including the private pool, the “ Donald and Melania” get away . A mistake on the way booking . Com advertised the rooms was more than made up for by the manager who without any argument placed us into a veritable palace on the waterfront , finer than any place in have lived or stayed at on vacation .

AustraliaNothing!
The resort itself is absolutely gorgeous but the thing that makes this an extra special experience were all of the lovely staff. Every single person went out of their way to extend their welcome with huge smiles and made sure our stay was super comfortable and we had everything we could possibly need and more. It would be difficult to name everyone but the general manager checked in with us frequently, food manager Hasom (the catch of the day for dinner was spectacular!), all restaurant staff Atef Mohammed, Hussein, Bassem, the front desk and reception Wael and Yasser we appreciate you all so much. Thank you for an amazing memory of our time in Egypt. Great location near Abu Simbel temple, don’t miss out on taking a boat at sunrise to see it too. We booked really easily with the front desk.

United KingdomWe stayed at Azal Lagoons Resort in December 2023 with our family of 5. We stayed in a lovely spatious and comfortable suite, very clean, tastefully decorated and picturesque with a nice view on the lake and pool outside. Comfortable beds and very quiet at night. Very nice showers and bathrooms with all amenities and bathrobes which were great! The staff was lovely with us and were very welcoming, attentive and helpful. We loved the pool! Amazing to be able to take a dip in the middle of the day when it got very hot. Had a really nice breakfast and the team Mr Atef Malak, Bassem, Mohamed and Hussien were very attentive and kind. The General Manager Mostafa was very helpful throughout our stay and the team were available at all times to help us. Really enjoyed our time here and very glad we opted to stay the night in Abu Simbel!! Highly recommend!

United StatesThe pool was not ready upon arrival and our concierge was a bit clingy. We prefer to travel without guides so this may be a plus for someone who is looking for it. We asked for help with a car and buying tickets to Abu Simbel and somehow he ended up staying with us the whole day and night, even dinner, which I believe we overpaid for because he chose to handle all payments. We didn’t like that.
Everything was top notch. We really enjoyed our stay. Huge room. Staff was on the ball. Breakfast was perfect for our long day of heading to Aswan. We managed to meet their IT team, f&b manager, head chef and on site doctor of hygiene (I believe) all seeking feedback. You can tell they are working hard to make this property successful. So glad we chose to stay here.
