How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The hotel was immaculate, my room was cleaned daily to an amazing standard and the housekeeping staff were absolutely wonderful. All of the staff here were so welcoming and friendly, nothing ever too much. We spent a lot of time around the pool closest to reception as this was right outside our room.

Pool too small for older children
I booked a three-night stay at Blumar Hotel El Sokhna for my elderly parents, as I unfortunately live abroad. I was initially concerned about whether they would receive the necessary assistance, but the customer care service they received was exceptional. They provided my dad with a wheelchair from the moment they arrived and accommodated meals to his room. Despite my mum being a fussy eater, she found the food delicious. The rooms were consistently clean and tidy. The entire staff was amazing and extremely helpful. This level of customer service sets a new standard in Egypt. I confidently recommend Blumar Hotel to my European friends. Thanks to the Blumar team for their outstanding service, and keep up the excellent work.

The receptionist was unprofessional. The hotel location is a bit difficult to get around town no uber and expensive car hires. Thankfully the hotel restaurant provides delicious meals so we didn’t have to buy from outside. Hotel doesn’t provide any activities yet it was still very relaxing. Wish if they would offer spa, massage treatments and dome aqua parks. Other than that it was perfect!
Amazing place for a getaway. Swimming pool is huge . Clean calming environment. Restaurant food is 5 stars kudos to chef Alaa for the exceptional food and to Mr Ali Badri for his outstanding professional hospitality.

No elevator or lift. The dinner could be better, but still wasnt bad.
The location is so good. The hotel is in a touristic village direct to the sea. The view was excellent and the breakfast was good. The stuff was friendly.

We were in Eid El Fetr holiday and there was a party at night downstairs and the sound was very high and the sound isolation of the room is very poor so it was very noisy. Another drawback is that the Hotel is has 2 floors above the ground and has no elevator.
Room has very comfortable beds, nicely furnished and in general room was very clean specially the Toilets was very clean and well equipped. Have a nice small beach, good swimming pool. Breakfast was average the main -ve was the hot drinks was not of good quality.
