The twin room was a little pricey, considering you can find many similar options around for cheaper. But it was kind of a last minute booking so we didn’t have much of a choice. And the room was comfortable also, so it wasn’t so bad.

Staff was very nice and helpful, they also have a spacious lounge with a great view of Cairo. Rooms also have great views from their balcony, very nice to catch sunsets from there. And Nikki (a dutch guest and the one responsible for bringing us to the hostel) was super nice and let me use her bed after we had already checked out and had to wait for our night train.

The beds were not comfortable

Cool and easy going folks running the hostel, good air- con and breakfast. Also done my laundry for 5 pounds per piece. On the middle of the city. Close to museum and Nasser metro is the closest. 1.5 km to cairo railway station

Main reason to go to another hostel: awful mattrasses. It felt like getting piercings in your back. There seems to be a policy of putting doors and windows open to let the wind through. Cool if you are cleaning, but not when you are having breakfast. Window in the room broke open in the middle of the night due to wind. Needs repair and not just an improvised fix.

Central location near Tahrir square and Talaat Harb on the 16th floor of Marouf tower (2 entrances, take the one closest to Marouf street). Advantage is the street noise is distant. Staff who checked me in, acted routinely, but correct. Nice view from the communal room. Breakfast okay.

Exceptional hospitality and friendliness!! Ibrahim and Radwa were very helpful and trustworthy, and they went over the expectations! I’ll definitely come back here if I visit Cairo again! Very closed to the Egyptian Museum and a big metro station

Place was not clean and with very old furniture not in a good state. The mattress was in terrible condition. Bathroom was dirty

Was perfect for us

We were looking for a place to spend the night in Cairo and get the Go Bus very early in the morning. Station is 5 mins walking. Place was spotless, with a great view, we booked private room with private bathroom and was spot on, good wifi, nice commun areas where you can get coffee and tea and fridge. We request private transfer from Cairo Airport and Ibrahim look after us, organized everything, perfect communication before getting to Cairo and also during our stay, driver was outside waiting for us, friendly man, took us to the Hostel, no problem at all. Room was big, clean, a/c working perfectly, big closet, hot water for shower, soap, shower gel. Man in reception Mustafa, very polite, friendly, he did offer to get breakfast earlier if we wanted, he also helped me to get the tickets for the bus. Good money exchange rate Hostel is very close to the Museum We were happy ( specially with the view from our room) and we will stay there again This Hostel is very close to a Main busy road so you can hear a city movie. We dont care abt it cos we love to feel the city

First bed given to me was not comfortable. But no worries, they will help you to change it.

You cannot find a better place with this price in any other properties. They are nice and value you. Free tea, water and also a nice breakfast.

What I absolutely love about this place is its vibe! I spent here 7 days and then I came back because of the people working here. They are responsible and helpful, every morning they start conversations with a smile and a coffee. The view from the rooms is astonishing, the location of the hostel makes it a perfect stay. I can highly recommend this place!!

This was my second stay in Castel Hostel. Nothing has changed, everything was great as before. Felt here like my second home. Truly can recommend this place to every one. Thank You for making my stay enjoyable! Thanks to Radwa, Shaymaa, Ibrahim, Mostafa and the rest of staff. See You again! :)

The first bed I used was a bit hard and I could feel the springs on my back. Fortunately they changed the bed.

The rooms are really clean and well mantained. The bunk bed is comfy enough. Staff is nice and welcoming.

Everything is nice. The staff here are welcomed and warm-hearted. The recommendation is great with clean beds and washroom. The bird view outside the window is splendid. Here is my home in Cairo and I will definitely come back here in the future l.
