Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandWe had some small language issues between us and the taxi drivers; but something massive. Not everyone speaks English in Egypt.
The hotel staff and check-in were great; they let us check in 5 hours early, which was so good since we were on a train trip for 14 hours. Also it is easy to organize a driver to pick us up from the train station. The room were great, and hotel looks in a good condition too... It isn't far from the city but not so acessisable to the city since you will need taxis to move around (no uber). Theres a small supermarket next to the hotel if you need anything. It is a great place to relax and stay away from the city.

Antigua & BarbudaWe had a hiccup with communication. I would advise them to train staff not to say yes or ok if they do not fully understand. However, this was only one member on their team. Also, it got a little uncomfortable using the pool facilities, as a tourist. The locals who came to cool down were very judgmental even though my friend and I followed dress code and were mostly covered.
Pleasant and accommodating staff! They also had a free shuttle accommodation to and from the city, when requested. I think the location, which is on the city outskirts, is perfect... not too far from the airport and close enough to the city.

EgyptI had hoped that the aqua park would be operational during my stay, despite my earlier knowledge that it would be out of service until April
The reception girl was very friendly and everything was very good, also the rooms were clean and comfortable and I think it will be one of the best hotels in Aswan when it is fully operational and so is the place around because the location of the hotel is in the new city of Aswan which is not completed yet and it is about half an hour away from the city center Old and about services

South AfricaNew aswan is 25% complete with its development and there is only one shop and one hotel in the entire main road. Main road was very messy and noisy due to the improvements. Once new aswan is finished built I would love to return in a few years to see how this new and extremely modern city will bring flocks of tourists. Distance to the city was about 20 mins drive by cab. We usually didn't return to the hotel to take a rest because of the distances we needed to travel from the hotel to the main hub in Aswan city. Breakfast variety was very limited.
The hotel will be a wonderful attraction once the development in new aswan is complete. Loved that the room was completely modern. The most high end finishes from all the hotels we stayed in during our travels. Transfers between city max aswan and city max new aswan was free of charge which was a great plus for us. Breakfast was arranged in a to-go bag when we checked out the morning which was pleasantly surprising. Receptions lady instantly changed our perception of the hotel with her friendliness.

IndiaThe staff tried to tell us that they have upgraded us and gave us a room with swimming pool view. We soon realised that the room had no balcony as promised on photos. Only on showing them the proof, they gave us the right room. Breakfast was just okay, nothing great and location is horrible - completely outside the city. Waterpark doesnt work.

ChinaThe hotel booked Abu Simbel tour is quite expensive, 45USD for the solar alignment day. Quite high as compared to others. Also the hotel can arrange aswan half day tour, 50USD, quite expensive also. not recommended.
The location is not so good, no nearby restaurant or anything, but there is free shuttle bus to the aswan town citymax. That's convenient.

The facilities were clean and we had a very comfortable stay. The staff was helpful and had our breakfast ready at 4AM as we had to leave for Abu Simbel.
