Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThere was no wifi in the rooms but there was in the restaurant downstairs. We were also given a sim card to use internet in our mobiles.
The location was perfect, with a lovely sea for snorkelling in front of Deep Ashri and walking distance to the town. The host was amazing, she is an enthusiastic and experienced guide. She arranged for us all these fantastic excursions; she gave us the most useful tips and provided an excellent driver. The place was clean and comfortable. We will definitely go back!

I am so happy that after a lot of research I decided to stay at Deep Ashri. We wanted to stay in Marsa Alam city and do snorkeling and diving and I am completely satisfied with the property but especially with the welcoming atmosphere that Simonetta provided us with. She helped us so much and made sure we had an unforgettable time here. It was like visiting a friend and we loved it. My only regret is that we did not stay longer. The studio had everything we needed and was very comfortable for us. The reefs around Marsa Alam are incredible and being able to see dolphins and turtles made this one of the most incredible experiences we’ve had. To be repeated.

SpainDon't expect to find other things to do in Marsa Alam other than wather based activities.
Overall a great experience. The room was comfy and clean with many amenities. Simonetta was a super host, she helped us find the best red sea tours. We really enjoyed our time in Marsa Alam and we will be back to Deep Ashri.

GermanyThe apartments in the Deep Ashri are very clean and cozy and have everything you need for a very good price. But what really makes the Deep Ashri extrordinary are the owner and her staff. Simonetta and Mattia are so friendly and helpful that it feels more like visiting friends than staying at a hotel. They are also both dive instructors, so if you want to go diving in Marsa Alam (and who doesn´t) you already have two awesome guides/instructors.

SlovakiaMilitary presence at numerous checkpoints and some of the beaches took us by surprise initially, but we felt no restrictions because the trips by Deep Ashri worked well.
The host was the best! Simonetta took care of all we needed in a perfectly efficient manner and always with a smile. She arranged our airport transfer, wonderful dives, scuba and snorkel equipment rental, visit to the local market, restaurants and else. She was happy to share useful tips and local knowledge, which made us feel like we're staying at a really good friend's place.

BelgiumThe surroundings of the place, characterized by unfinished buildings and an ugly seafront.
Deep Ashri has good accomodation and a pleasant guesthouse vibe. The rooms are spacious and clean, and have a decent kitchen. The staff is friendly and the host, Simonetta, is amazing. She is always ready to help out with various travel and practical matters. And above all, she is a fantastic dive instructor - the best I ever met during my 15 years diving career! The presence of a restaurant and bar (serving beers), and the vicinity of Marsa Alam (15 min walk), are both a bonus.

LuxembourgThe surroundings of the hotel are a real desolate place. The beach isn't worth mentioning, unless you just want to sun bathe and really don't care for a nice view ate all. It is a 15 minute Walk to the actual City of Marsa Alam which has a few shops and restaurants (there is however an excellent seafood restaurant in 5 minute walking distance of the hotel). Marsa Alam itself is just as desolate as the immediate surroundings of the hotel. Buf we all know we dont come for the beauty of egyptian cities to the red sea.
The room was very clean and big. It had a TV which I actually never used and a well working air conditioner. The kitchen was well equipped. The shower was good too with immediately hot water. What made the experience truly outstanding however was not the place but the host, Simonetta. Never have I met a more caring host who sacrificed personal time to drive with me to the city of Marsa Alam to buy some groceries as well as an Egyptian Sim Card. She also was my dive instructor for the week. Although I already had the Open Water Diver licence when I came there, Simonetta showed me so much more an offered me a diving experience well tailored to my skills.

United KingdomThe surrounding area is a mess at present and does resemble a bomb site. Safe enough to walk around , You will need to take a taxi, which are pretty inexpensive, to the local beaches which are beautiful.
Deep Ashri is perfect place to stay for all your diving needs. It has an Italian restaurant next door which sells good food and drinks. Both Simonetta and Mateu work very hard to ensure all your needs are met. They are fully aware of the poor quality of the surrounding area which is still being developed but if you keep your head below sea level if becomes irrelevant because the sea life is magical. Simonetta will take you to the best diving and snorkelling beaches which are only a short car journey away. The apartments are clean and very well equipped.

We absolutely loved our stay in Deep Ashri! Nice and best equipped stay we had during our travels through Egypt. For me it was the perfect location to go diving with a dive school Simonetta organized for me. We could prepare our own meals and go to restaurants in Marsa Alam without having to be in a resort. The reef right across the street is also quite nice for snorkeling, but depending on the water tide maybe a bit tricky to get in. Would definitely recommend it!
