Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe egyptians are up after sunset and sometimes until late at night which means your spot right at the seaside promenade can get loud. If you are a very light sleeper this isnt ideal - if again you are looking for being a part of the daily el quseir schedule with busy evenings and quiet lazy late mornings then this is the place 😉
35 year old Mostafa and his staff are very helpful, hospital and cool people who will help you feel local and at home right away. Look forward to great food, grocery and taxi tips snd organization. A ride to the best fish restaurant or a koshari home delivery? No problem… Overall the place was clean and the common bathrooms were cleaned daily and thoroughly. Since there aren’t many rooms you usually just share your bathroom with one other party. Mind that hygiene and furniture comfort are not the same as in europe but mostafa is working on improving everything step by step. But if you are looking for spotless resort comfort this isnt the best place. For authentic egyptian hospitality and experience u cant get anything better! The 20€ per night are an absolutely incredible deal especially since a tasty local breakfast is included.

EgyptThe pressure in the shower on the top floor was low. The staff said they were gonna fix it.
Great stay at El Quseir hotel. Mustafa renovated his family house with taste and turned it into a simple gemm. Perfect location in the Old city of El Quseir. The staff can arrange everything for you to explore the city and the coast.

United KingdomThe shower in the shared bathroom didn't work very well. My room was facing the sea and the main street, so it could get quite noisy, I bought my earplugs so it wasn't really a problem to me to fall asleep.
I love this old beautiful hotel which is full of character. The staffs were helpful and friendly, breakfast was delicious and the the dining room was super lovely. Location is excellent, close to the castle, shops and restaurants.

GermanyMustafa is a great host. He welcomed us with a big smile and an open heart in the house which already belonged to his grandfather. It’s an old and beautiful building with a lots of charme and the best view you can imagine directly on the sea shore. You will get a tasty traditional breakfast. Mustafa is helpful in every way, he even organised a driver a couple of times. Thanks again!

IrelandThe location is perfect, it’s in the old town and right on the sea, you get a really beautiful sunrise. The staff are friendly and helpful, with good recommendations for places to go. Breakfast was really good, and caters for vegans. It was really cool to stay in this well preserved historic building. They also have nice cats :)

NetherlandsI really enjoyed my stay at this charming historic guest house. It feels like it hasn’t changed for years (with air conditioning) which makes it a delightful experience, but may not be for everyone. The building is stunning, the friendliness of Mustafa and willingness to help with everything on my arrival to Egypt, flexibility and delicious and variable local breakfast (included) made it a unique experience

United KingdomNothing much at the price, but those looking for luxury should look elsewhere. Bathrooms are shared per floor in case that bothers people.
Quirky, distinctive, and very rustic - an anachronism on the beach in El Qseir within easy walking distance of many restaurants and tourist spots. The view from the shared balcony was lovely and the breakfast superb. Rooms are large and traditionally furnished, but with good air conditioning. A very good antidote to the awful package holiday-type resorts that are the frequently offered alternatives in the area. Great value for money too, but not going to suit those looking for a luxury stay - the El Qseir hotel is definitely a no-frills establishment.

Spain-
This was my very first destination within Egypt, ever. Mostafa and his friends did raise the bar very high. They are all incredibly good people that made me feel at home. The atmosphere in Quseir seems relaxed with the ocean always nearby. You can already see on the photos that this is a beautiful building, but it’s really the people that make it more beautiful. I feel blessed with the experience. Mostafa, thanks again for your amazing hospitality, bless you and your kindness.

One of the most beautiful historical building of El Quseir directly in front of the sea, perfectly renovated as a familiar hostel. Feel lucky to have been staying here as we had the chance to meet Sebaq, the owner of the hostel, one of the kindest person I have ever met. He gave us suggestions and helped us organize our trip in Egypt even after we left his hostel. Not mentioning the amazing Egyptian breakfast he serves. Will come to visit again!

FranceWi fi doesn’t work very well. You have to be aware that the beach in front of the hotel is not good for swimming and snorkeling: you’ll need to take a taxi to go to other places.
Very nice vintage hotel in the city center. The building is beautiful, the rooms are big and comfortable. The staff is kind and, as a woman traveling alone, I felt totally safe. Breakfast is very good and shared toilets are clean!

Everything! The structure and the style of the hotel's building, the view, the location. Yet what I LOVED the most was the incredible generous hospitallity that Mostapha and Ahmad showed me, Mostapha's enthusiastic to tell stories about his town and his tribe's traditions and history.
