Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyWe are two women travelling and we could not have felt more comfortable and safe and welcome at the Hotel Embrace, we had a fantastic time there, it is a a small and very personally managed hotel. Kareem and his team took great care of us. Also the choice of the location, choosing the West side of the Nile is, if you are looking for a calmer and more authentic, the best. We will come back for sure.

New ZealandThe Embrace was an excellent place to stay on the West Bank of Luxor. In a quiet side street near many other hotels, but also only about 5mins walk to the public ferry terminal for the East bank. The rooms were fantastic, spacious and d comfortable. The pool area is divine! But most importantly the staff were fantastic. They were really welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I would definitely stay again.

NetherlandsThe warm water is supplied by sun power on the roof, this apparently means no warm water in the shower. The dome shaped roof the room makes for increased sound, but looks very nice.
The hotel is nicely designed (by the owner himself so he said) and really in style, you would not expect a nice hotel like this on this side of the river. The hotel has a relaxing flowery garden and a swimming pool. The rooms were nice and comfy with a big bathroom. Staff was very friendly and there was a big and plentiful breakfast in the morning.

United KingdomI asked for a ride to the bus station and I was quoted 20$ when I could get a taxi for between 5-8$ (though admittedly I speak some Arabic and there would be a lot of negotiation with the driver). To be fair, this is the case with the big chain hotels as well. And when I negotaited he came down to 10$. But still, its a small intimate place and I think they should be quoting the best price for their guests. I don't mind paying above the premium - as a foreigner I expect and can afford it. But I also don't like being taken for a total ride.
The hotel has a very chill vibe and the rooms are lovely. Breakfast also very nice in a very nice garden setting. Staff also very helpful.

PolandEverything was good.
I loved the architecture of the hotel (nubian style, but more like nubian palace) and beautiful garden. Sitting in it, you could only hear the birds and islamic prayers from time to time. I also liked the space for yoga or other exercises. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. At the beginning I wasn't happy with a few things which were improved very fast and I was given flowers, which was so cute 😊

United StatesThe room was clean but perhaps not up to US or European standards of maintenance (nothing disgusting, just some things needed to be fixed/replaced). The stable next door was loud if you dislike chicken/donkey sounds (we didn't mind it).
The location across the river from the noise of downtown Luxor was great. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our room was huge and the staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't get to enjoy the pool, but it looked nice and the gardens were beautiful.

United StatesNo WiFi in the room as everyone else said. There was no hot water in the afternoon during our stay.
The hotel is just a few years old and everything is new and clean. It is also beautifully designed and located in a quiet area within walking distance to the pier. Fairly easy to get around yet still feels peaceful and relaxing. The staffs are all helpful and friendly.

United KingdomReading/bedside lamps in the room would be great!
Great hotel with helpful and friendly staff. They were able to accommodate our arrival very early on the first day, and organised a driver/car for visiting the sites on the West Bank over two days. The garden is a peaceful haven to relax after a day of sightseeing, and the breakfast is amazing. Only 10 minutes walk to the river and the ferry. There is also good selection of restaurants at a walking distance. As mentioned by others, the WIFI is mainly available only in the reception, but we actually liked it as it allowed us to switch off properly.

United KingdomWiFi- the only place we could get it was in the garden. Hot water - only if you ran the shower/tap for around 20 minutes. Get those two things sorted and you’ve got a great place to stay
This hotel is on the West Bank of the Nile and off the beaten track. It’s quite small, pretty basic, no frills. The food choices were limited but good, the staff were great. There’s a lot of development on the West Bank waterfront so in a few years this will be the place to go.

AustraliaThere was nothing I didn’t like about my stay at Embrace.
Embrace is a beautifully built hotel in the Egyptian style. It has a lovely shaded garden area with the swimming beyond another building used for yoga and music. My room was huge with great air conditioning but also windows and a door leading on to a private balcony. The whole hotel was an interesting design. The staff were fun and very generous with their time and information. They were happy to assist with tours and advice. Breakfast each day was in garden area…..just lovely. There was also an ATM located on the property.

United StatesThe WiFi was very slow. This is a rural community that was quiet and peaceful with very kind people, but the internet was very spotty and we were unable to even send messages at times.
The property was beautiful and the staff here were amazing. They were so welcoming, accommodating, and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Having the restaurant onsite was especially convenient with our busy days away at tours. The dinner was one of my favorites I had while in Egypt.
