Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomKeep in mind this is an original Nubian house, if you're not comfortable in a not perfectly sealed rooms this is not the right place. We had no pests issues during our stay but light was coming in from sealing and walls, this will not exclude the possibility of "little friends passing by".
Beautiful structure in real Nubian style. The room was massive and the bathroom new and clean. Stellar customer service. Restaurant on site. Best WiFi in our two weeks trip.

United KingdomThe hotel was amazing. We were greeted by the owners family and given a welcome Hibiscus drink. They advised us how to best visit the temple and arranged, for a small charge, a sunrise boat trip, with tea and biscuits, on lake Nasser to see the sun rise on the temple. The food was wonderful, fresh fish from the lake, meat and vegetarian options. The rooms are exceptional, Nubian design and textiles. Very spacious with a private terrace. I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. i wish we had stayed longer in this peaceful haven.

United KingdomThis place was a dream. Right from the room and the lodge, to the people, the food and the kittens. It was so nice to finally stay in a place which had good value for money, the staff were super nice and friendly and the food was beautiful. I am sad i missed out on the music the owner uses plays sometimes as he was away for a wedding.

GermanyWiFi signal could have been stronger in the rooms. Maybe a repeater could help. Other than that, it was perfect.
Probably as atmospheric and authentic as it can get: The whole architecture and decoration was traditionally Nubian which created a very nice atmosphere but still provided all modern amenities (air condition, shower,...). Also the view on Nasser lake from the hotel terrace is nice. The rooms are all satisfyingly clean and all staff was really friendly and helpful with organising our trip back to Aswan. The Nubian dinner was fantastic - taste-wise and atmospherically with nice Nubian background music. The fish we had was excellently seasoned - the best we had during our travels.

BelgiumEverything was perfect, honestly.
We had the loveliest stay at Eskaleh Eco Lodge! Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, the room was amazing and food was very very tasty. We were also very happy that they provided vegetarian options in the dinner menu. Location is perfect, you are only a few minutes away from the temples as well as the airport, and the surroundings are calm and relaxing. We also love the Nubian style of the decor. We visited in the summer time and were initially a bit scared of the heat, but it really was fine and the hotel has AC and fans everywhere. To top it off, we befriended the sweetest little, healthy kitty and had a lovely relaxing day in between visiting the temple. 100% recommended!!

Irelandeverything was amazing from the lodge itself, the location and the staff, there is nothing not to like about this wonderful place.
from the moment i arrived at Eskaleh eco lodge and was greeted by a cool refreshing hibiscus tea,i immediately felt at home. The location of the lodge beside lake was dreamy and the lodge itself was so full of character and had a warm ambiance feel about it. The food was amazing both the complimentary breakfast and the dinner which was offered as an extra and which i highly recommend. The room had everything you could wish for, great a.c,big bathroom and towels, good fridge and lovely outdoor patio, and the whole place was spotless. the rooftop area was massive with plenty of seating and provided an amazing panoramic view over the lake. most of all....were the staff...i have traveled the world and stayed at many different places but i felt extremely privileged to have been able to meet the people who help run the lodge, from the gardeners to the cleaners, housekeeping and cooks, they were all such warm wonderful and friendly people, how many hotel staff in your experience offer to take you suitcase to the bus station,i think that says it all. my whole experience at this lodge was nothing short of amazing and i will be coming back in september because of my experience here. thank you so much to Fickry,Shadee,Noree,Mohammod T.,the 3 Ahmed's,the 2 Ali's,,Fatima,Lilo,Kinara,Mabrook,Hub,Samaha,Osman,Abdul,Hamdy,Lezeer,Saba,Hajaj,Hassan, and Mazdy. miss you all and see you soon.
