Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomReception staff were not particularly welcoming or informative. They were a bit off hand, which was unusual at Fort Arabesque.
The location close to the beach, beautifully kept gardens, a variety of pools and bars. the Pavilion restaurant and staff were superb. Our villa (no: 7) was fantastic.

SwitzerlandIt was supposed to be all-inclusive, but what is offered is very basic. Any extras cost immediately. We wanted to purchase the Premium all-inclusive package which had been offered for EUR 25.- per person per day, but when we got to the hotel it was not EUR 25 but EUR 45!! At that rate it is not worthwhile, you are better off paying for the extra services you really will use. The WIFI was really bad, to have wifi in the rooms one had to pay extra, but in some rooms even if you pay there was no access!
The hotel has an excellent location with a reef in front of most of the beach. You can snorkel all day and see amazing variety of fish. The fact that you can only access the water through a couple of corridors because of the reef, makes the beach and shore very quiet and agreeable.

United KingdomFirst of all up on arrival at 1am we were welcomed by impolite and very rude male receptionist. Who made us feel unwelcome and wasn’t interested to look after guests. I have booked with my credit card but unfortunately I left my whole purse on the plane in Italy, therefore upon arrival to the hotel we had to use my husbands 2 bank cards that neither had worked. After we have managed to get enough cash to pay for 1 night we were given the room. When we got to a room, the room was for 3 people rather than 4. Even the concierge agreed beds were small for 4 people but did nothing. Me and my daughter had to share single bed which we didn’t mind as we were really tired by then. We have also been charged £60 for early check in. Prior arrival I have exchanged messages with hotel via booking.com and been told if arriving after 1am there is no early check in fee. Even though I had messages receptionist wasn’t interested. The whole check in experience had left us feeling unwelcome. The following day we have contacted our bank and paid for our stay and then we received extra bed. The reps for the trips are your best friends until you purchase and complete trip after that not interested in your feedback or even come to say hello.
The barman I think his name was Mohammed in the pool bar does the best good tasting cocktails. The bar by the beach quite few rude barman and bad cocktails. The landscape and beach is very well looked after. The public washroom facilities by the beach bar very clean and well looked after very polite cleaning team. Surfing owner and his colleagues by the diving place very nice, friendly and good teachers. Suggestion for entertainment team to hold some teenager (12-15y) clubs/activities/games as there was not much to do.

United StatesAmazing Nature, the trees, the flowers. It was beautiful. what I like the most is the beach, I'm not a swimmer, so I really loved that I saw a lot of fishes and lots of coral reefs very close to the shore. The staff was always very friendly to us, they always had a smile on their faces. We had an issue with our air condition in our room and Mr. Michael requested to move us to a better room, and the room was perfect. I really liked how they care about their clients needs and requests.

Canada- Staff is generally cold, at some time even rude. Most of them don't look like they enjoy their work at all (exept the ones in charge of sports/activities). A few of them were very kind in any case (the nicest ones were doing room cleaning!) - English is barely spoken, it led to many mistakes in orders and uncomfortable situations (like a mistske in booking our honeymoon dinner by the beach, which left us speechless...) It makes no sense that after being there for a week the same staff still only gave us menus and spoke to us in German (which they seem to all speak very well) - Check in was not easy, with almost no instructions about how to use the premium all inclusive and the different restaurant offers. For check out, the baggage service never showed up to the room and I had to carry all luggages myself to the taxi (which made us late and the driver mad). - "Premium" cocktails were verry basic and the alcool is just of bad quality in general (taskes like rubbing alcool and the amount is completely unequal between one drink and another). The only good ones were at the Club159
- The villas were absolutely stunning: very spatious, luminous, clean and the view was amazing. Having a private pool was a big plus - Globally, the hotel is beautiful and very well maintained - The Club159 and Pavillon restaurants were very good, the food is simply amazing. - Having the opportunity to do snorkeling for free directly on the beach, it's awesome during breaks between sun baths - Ability to book our own spot by the beach with premium all inclusives.

AustriaI went to many Hotels in Hurghada and although this wasn't a cheap one but it had some main downsides. There are a lot more luxurious hotels than this one. The main thing was that there was a system that people can book their place on the beach with 8€ per day and even though you are a guest in the hotel, you might not find a place to sit on the beach if you didn't book and we found that horrible. Second thing was that the resort was really big but it had 1 main restaurant to serve all the people in Breakfast and dinner, so it was really more than busy all the time , you might not be able to find plates, or forks or tissues even in some occasions. Also the swimming pool was really not clean at all .
The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. Food was nice and the sea was great. They had very nice entertainment shows in the evenings

United KingdomExcellent resort which was perfect for our family break. Snorkeling directly from the beach was the highlight, just walk out a few metres and there is an abundance of highly colourful fish to see. You don't even need to be able to swim, you can remain standing you just need a snorkel mask and a camera to capture it all. Clean, tidy, plenty of food options of a good standard. Plenty of shops for anything you need or have forgotten.
