AC is always good but there’s a decent sea breeze and the room cools in the late afternoon. The ceiling fan works well. There is some traffic noise but it does quieten down later.

It’s a grand old building, all original, with spectacular views of the sea. The staff- typical Egyptian kindness, hospitality and friendliness. Hamdi was very helpful. Excellent value and great location.

It is loud, it was not a problem for us, in fact my son didn't even notice or mention it among the negatives. If you need quiet to sleep, bring earplugs, or maybe stay away from Egypt entirely, there is no quiet anywhere I have traveled in this beautiful country. Bring your own towels, they are not provided for you. I tend to buy a good towel early in my travels because Egyptian hotel towels are hit and miss, as are the pillows. The pillows were not terrible, and the beds were a bit firm but not uncomfortable. There was a ceiling fan in the room, I presume it worked but it was so covered with absolutely nasty filthy grime I didn't try to turn it on for fear of a rainstorm of yuck. There was a lot of dust on the walls and crown molding, which is par for the course in these old, bargain hotels. The floor, furniture and balcony were clean, and the fridge was a little worse for wear, but cold, so better than nothing.

This hotel was perfect for my adventurous son and I. It will definitely not be everyone's cup of tea. The building is a moorish shabby cousin of it's more distinguished neighbors, like the Cecil, and there is some romantic glamor still clinging to it. The unassuming and poorly marked entrance hall is quite lovely, with its huge wooden door and vaulted ceiling. The view of the bay is amazing, the balcony overlooking the water makes it an inbeatable place. You can see the entire west side of the harbor laid out before you. The windows open to the sea breeze made air conditioning or fans unnecessary even in August. The fridge was a great thing to have and the lift, although a little jenky, made getting up to the 2nd floor easy. Having any kind of bathroom in your room at the price we paid is great, and the bathroom was good enough. We spent several lazy mornings laying around just looking at the view. And showered messily at least 2x a day. So humid! Staff was friendly enough, we didn't really ask for anything much, but upon arrival the young desk clerk, whose English was very much appreciated, ran out and got us water. If you are looking for hustle bustle on the waterfront, easy access to shopping and food and the tram line, taxis and late night activity, this is absolutely ideal.and the price is unbeatable.

this hotel has huge potential but needs money spent to bring it up to a reasonable standard , the toilet is too small and it doesn't flush properly or it doesn't flush at all as the tank is too small ,I had to put bottle water into the system to clear it each time I used the toilet ,the hot water takes a long time to get to the room , a simple system hot water system located in the room would be better , one of the two beds in the room was unstable , hospitality skills are lacking , staff are more concern about talking among themselves than welcoming guest , regarding security , they wanted key left on reception desk when the guest go out but no one at desk so leaving the key could not be a security issue , the bed linen appeared clean but was old looking , with some minor updates to the room and some interior decor, this hotel would have lots of appeal and a much better ratings

.prime location with outstanding beautiful sea views, close to shops, cafes and transport , best location in Alexandria, the hotel receptionist speaks very good English , Interesting vintage reception area with a beautiful vintage style lift

Nothing we had a good nights. There was a strange sound (تقريبا عصافير)from sandra in the room when we were sleeping (may annoy people when sleeping )

The rooms were clean. The balacony was in front of the sea directly.
