Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicOnly one thing, thats eating out. The restaurant is kinda expensive(island prices) and its better to eat mainland.
One of the best deals we could find around Aswan. The vibe is much more relaxing on the island. The view was beautiful. Hamo is lovely and always there to help. Beds are huuuge and comfy.

MexicoТhe breakfast and the accuracy of the communication with the host could bе improved further, however Hamo was extremely polite and dedicated host.
Staying over for few nigths at Hamo house in Elephantine's island at the core of authentic Nubian house gave us the possibility to sense and experince the old and rich cultural background of the Nubians.

RussiaHamo house is a great place to stay. The house is very well located, just in front of the Nile, the sea view is amazing. There are 3 rooms, and they are all large with a balcony and comfortable beds. The shared shower is big and it's working properly with hot water. The restaurant with a big terrace offers a great view, you have to order in advance. Hamo is very kind and hospitable man. He will try his best to help you. We didn't eat at his palce and we didn't book any tours with him. If you want peace along the Nile, we recommend you his place!

Food was really good and Hamo is always around to see if I needed something. After visiting the craziness in Luxor and Cairo this place is paradise. I'll be coming back again and again! GermanySorry, sorry, to say: this was the worst experience we ever, ever had with a hotel or guest house! Never in my life I had so good looking and poor tasting food :-o. Purely tastless! No matter, what it was: tameya, omlett, beans - no taste: no salt. no herbs. Horrible. Dull, dark, traumatic. The atmosphere at whole place was heavy, sad, dark and traumatic. Really bad. The lady running the restaurant was busy with her child and did not speak one word of English. She told us some things in Arabic just to have a conversation, but was her smile was fake and unsecure. We did not feel comfortable at all, both of us. 30$ per night for the double room incl. breakfast - a ripp off . 3 $ would have been more appropriate. When her husband finally came the next day, he offered us 5 times to take us on a boat trip - we agreed: our fault! When we came for the boat trip around the island, only then he started to get the boat "ready" (uncleand), tried to get it started, opened the motor, tried to fix some cables, failed many times to start the motor. Once on the little, dirty boat, we started drifting towards the middle of the river, as the motor again went off. We were afraid to miss our train back to LUXOR and requested him to take us back to the shore - he tried to ignore our request until we had to yell at him. . .. . what a horror idea to be lost drifting on the Nile, while we miss our train! As there are no cars or no tuktuk on the island, one can only WALK across to the ferry back to Assuan OR you hire a boat to take you to the other side/Assuan.
The guest house is located on Elepantine island, opp. to Assuan. As there are no cars or no tuktuk on the island, one can only WALK across the island OR you take a boat around the island to be able to reacht to the guest house you have booked. spacious Terrace with sand floor and coloured plastic chairs: right at the Nile river, overlooking the Nile and facing the neighbouring island. Room: our room was rather a part of an apartment with two bathrooms, one kitchen, a hallway and two friges. There was a balony two, but it was not so clean. Bathroom was equipped with soap, many hooks, lots of space. Only 500m away is the IBIZA guest house - a lovey painted terrace restaurant with friendly, open smiling people, bright atmosphere, good food - a 100% change of the dull atmosphere at Hamo House.

United KingdomThe mosquitos are busy at night as it is on the river Bank so think about bringing an insect repellent before arriving. Also make sure Kamo really understands you as it was hard to get a sugar free coffee.
The location is fantastic with a view onto Kitchener's islamd, it is so peaceful compared to the east bank of Aswan. Hamo is very friendly and helpful. However the boat rides are a bit overpriced so it is better to bargain. The room and bathroom, toilets are clean and there is plenty of hot water. It is quite good value for money. I wish him to do well especially after these covid years which must have hit these tourist places badly.

PolandBUT…….. this place REALLY needs cleaning. Its DIRTY. The floors are ok, be bathrooms are fine, but thats it. a bit dusty, cold in winter, really NEGLECTED, sticky kitchen. and its a shame cause it could be a really nice place if they wiped it at least every week or two….
Ok Im giving a good review because I REALLY LIKED HAMO, whose presence is in my opinion the main reason why this really basic place is getting good opinions. He is the soul of this place, simple, kind and helpfull. Gave me a simple village-like take away breakfast, which I find touching, gave good tips with his very simple english, it all worked out. cool bar just outside.

GermanyI wouldnʼt stay there again. The hostʼs behaviour was pushy, tries to make a business out of everything in an unpleasant way and rips you off, sells overpriced drinks while the preparation of them takes forever. If you donʼt want to wait for a whole hour at the table for your breakfast being prepared, messing up all your plans for the day, better eat somewhere else. Additionally he doesnʼt speak English well, which is not a big deal, but it caused a misunderstanding that as a result made the host angry. What happened: on my arrival with the boat another passenger paid the whole ride. I asked the captain of the boat if I need to pay as well, he declined and didnʼt want to have my money. Two days later during my departure the host implied that I would have cheated on the boat fare during my arrival and that I would need to pay now. So I gave the host money again. Unbelievable. I left with a bad mood.
