Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaMY 1 MAJOR ISSUE IS WITH BOOKING.COM ITSELF, RATHER THAN THE HOTEL. THIS WEBSITE ADVERTISED AND CONFIRMED A PRICE PER NIGHT, BUT WHEN I LOOKED AT MY CC BILL, I WAS SURPRISED TO FIND THAT PRICE HAD INCREASED—SIGNIFICANTLY. WHEN I LOOKED INTO IT, I NOTICED THAT THE PRICE HAD INCREASED FROM USD$210, TO USD$270—AN ALMOST 25% INCREASE THAT I WAS TOLD WOULD BE THE LOCAL VAT. AS ANY TRAVELLER KNOWS, THIS CHARGE IS USUALLY AROUND 14%. HOWEVER, WHEN I GOT TO HAPPY CITY AND INQUIRED ABOUT THIS EXTRA CHARGE, THEY SAID THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT IT AND THAT IN FACT THIS WAS A MARKUP FROM THE WEBSITE. FOR THAT REASON, I WOULD SUGGEST PERHAPS BOOKING A NIGHT OR TWO THROUGH THE SITE IF YOU MUST, BUT BOOKING THE REMAINDER OF YOUR STAY DIRECTLY WITH THE HOTEL WHEN YOU ARRIVE.
The hotel itself my expectations. It is a mid-tier hotel, but much better than many for Cairo standards. The staff probably make the experience that much better. They are always kind and helpful and try to answer any questions you have. The facilities are clean (especially by Egyptian standards) and the maintenance staff do a stand-up job. The breakfast is pretty good and there is a decent amount of choices. If you know anything about this country's tap water, you would probably avoid drinking the juice. Contrary to the listing, there is no WIFI anywhere except the lobby and probably because so many others are using it, it's quite slow. However, that's also common of Cairo and I actually found it to be as fast as the 4G Data network of the major carriers. The rooms are fairly small but air-conditioned well, which is very important in this Cairo heat. A somewhat iconic feature of the hotel is their rooftop bar, a rare gem in this (mostly dry) city. It's got excellent views, an array of munchies, and a couple different kinds of local beers. If you're looking for a lowkey, unpretentious spot to relax after a day of this city's bustle, I would highly recommend it. My favourite part about this hotel is its location.

EgyptI don’t like specially the reception. We are more than 5 times repeaters in happy hotel only this time is very bad experience. We called the reception before we booked in booking.com they said no vacant better booked in booking, then we booked it in booking then we came in hotel at 15;30 pm and reception told us NO Vacant room how come?? They are lier… we thought that we can rest once we come in hotel because we are from Hurghada and directly in hospital after hospital direct in hotel. We thought all will be well but it was so hilarious… if we didn’t call the booking.com they will not find room for us.. so disappointed
Only one thing I like only the people in restaurant they are helpful

GermanyFirst we have been informed that there is no more places although the reservation is already confirmed. They apologized many times that's their mistake, and the only option to upgrade the reservation with paying extra money. I did it because it was so late and I was so tired. I belive my comment here is better than complaining.

EgyptStarting from the receptionist who had to check out our booking that has been created 7 hours in advance, the security guy with the white bear is really rude, the hotel is not representating any sort of hospitality service at all, we found plastic spoon left dirty on the sofa while we have been advised that the room is ready & inspected. It looks like a mafia within the property & very weird place to host people yet I got to mention Ghayeth, the respectful bellman as well as the friendy lady from the housekeeping who were supportive enough.
