How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

At checkin the receptionist was very annoying and very very unhelpful. This is probably the 7th time vacationing at Almaza this is the first time to deal with such an unfriendly receptionist. Another very annoying issue was being charged an extra fee for staying on the ground floor. I got the impression that Almaza now that the tourism is back is only looking at getting the maximum out of its visitors. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
Breakfast is awesome.. Everything was great.. The beach and the service was very good.

You have access to all Jaz hotels in the area, you are allowed to use any swimming pool over there not only Tamerina’s swimming pool , the family room is quite big fits 2 adults and 2 kids , the beds are really comfy .. The open buffet has varieties and the taste of the food is really good . Will definitely go there again next summer

Easier access to the beach
Staff were very friendly and accommodating from the front desk to the beachside. My elderly mother was with me and they assisted with her mobility issues and celebrated her 91st birthday. Which was so incredibly thoughtful and sweet

Excellent is an understatement. Everything was impeccable and worth every pound spent. From the smooth welcoming checkin to the beach services. Almaza is really a gem and tamerina staff made it even better.

Almost nothing. Just found a piece of plastic trash on the room floor.
The breakfast buffet was just excellent with a wide variety that serve the expectation of people from different backgrounds and preferences or diet styles. Felt the luxury of having breakfast on the pool.

Room cleanliness was very disappointing. Bad smell in the bathroom from the minute I stepped in the room ( Vomit smell) I asked staff to clean they did on the spot but smell didn't go away. Bed linen didn't seem very fresh. Floor was not very clean. No wifi in the room .
Great beach that was easily accessible by a 5 minute walk. Staff was very friendly and professinal.

The tv sets in rooms are old with lots of non operating channels. Also a hotel this size shiuld have free WIFI in rooms.

Alamaza bay is one of the best beaches on the North coast. The animation team was not really active. Didnt find the people in the kids club. No activities for kids at night like in other jaz hotels. The beach isn’t privat. It is shared with almaza community. the rooms are not very clean as it used to be in other Jaz hotels.
The rooms are spacious. Comfortable beds. Beautiful huge pool. breakfast has many options. almaza bay beach is great. Only 400m away. Room service and staff are super friendly.

More garden landscapes were expected.

No Wifi service in the rooms, only available in hotel public spaces such as lobby or restaurants was at times inconvenient. Hope it is extended to the rooms in the future as in this day and age, Wifi is essential. Also at times our hotel experienced brief power cuts that were quickly restored by the hotel electricity generators, but was still quite odd that it happened.
Spacious rooms, beautiful surroundings, calm, wonderful restaurants, excellent staff and cleanliness. Can access other Jazz hotels on the same beachfront, facilities are truly excellent, many things to do in the evening and lovely long walks on the main connecting beachfronts.
