I can not say anything bad about this hotel. Everything is just top notch. I wish I stayed longer than a night. I definitely want to and will be back. Sara at the front desk was a gem. She really helped us out with everything, she was very kind and patient the whole time. There was a car and tuk tuk option as a form of transpiration, which was very helpful. The rest of the stuff was kind as well.

It's certainly not near anything, but that's kind of the point. Don't expect to walk anywhere off property unless you want to go swimming in the Nile.

What a serene, beautiful place this is. I can't wait to go back. Clean rooms, kind staff, fantastic food, the best view of the nile. The colors of the Nubian style property were ideal for photos and a gorgeous backdrop.

So its very far, and the road to reach there is very bad, so you are kind of stuck there. The pool was very dirty, like sand on bottom, and plastics and other debris on top. The staff near the pool are very bad, they don’t understand english and you have to look for them and order things several times. We had to make our own sunbeds and the sun umbrellas were all falling apart. Internet was useless here

The design of the building is very original and the view of the Nile from the balcony of the room is amazing. The room is nice and cozy. Food was ok

Because of its amazing location, it is a bit far away from the village and it is very hard to get there unless you know the way, as there are no roads, just desert. This means that you’ll have to be quite dependent on the hotel staff everytime you want to go or come from somewhere. Just something to have in mind.

The hotel is extremely beautiful. It is a little piece of paradise in the middle of the desert. The views are amazing. Very quiet and peaceful. The members of the staff are all super nice and helpful, specially Sara. She was super attentive and helpful throughout our stay and on the last day we had a problem with our taxi on our way to the airport and she went the extra mile to help us and make sure everything was alright.

Excellent relaxing traditional Nubian culture resort.

The location is very difficult to get to especially at night. Being the first time in Egypt with the family with two kids and unfortunately due to delays we arrived late at night and driving through the empty desert with driver you don't know, certain thoughts come to mind, which are natural, especially if you are a mother or father. I would recommend the hotel to put up even more signs starting from the Nubian village even further down so that the tourists know they are heading in the right direction. Maybe right at when the village ends. We did start seeing signs once we were a few minutes away from the resort in the empty desert, but I think more signs/directions are required. From the bottom of the village before you start heading up through the village and to the desert, it's about a 20 minute drive. The Google maps location IS NOT CORRECT! Google map takes you to the bottom of the resort. You need to go through the entire village and go through the desert above the town to get to the hotel. I will say, after the scary night arrival, the next morning having booked a tour and driving back the road we came from at night, it was surreal experience driving with those 3 wheel motorbikes (toktok they call them) back into the desert and through the village. The scenery is unbeatable. So if you happen to arrive in the day, you are not going to have the scary arrival experience we had of course. It seems when we arrived it was a soft-opening. So not many guests were there and they did not have breakfast buffet. They did make us to-go boxes of breakfast since we had tours, but they did not have breakfast as indicated by the pictures. I believe they should have communicated this somehow before guests arrive so the guests know what to expect.

The resort is very beautiful and peaceful environment away from the city and noise. The views in the morning during sunshine are amazing and probably best you will see in Aswan. The attention to detail of the architecture is incredible and all share a story. We liked to read about all the different room names and their history. So you do learn a lot as well if that's what you are interested in. The infinity pool is amazing you feel you are on the edge of a cliff. Although it was a bit cold. But very relaxing after a long day tour. The food was the best we eat in Egypt as it is made very traditional by local Nubian people. The staff were very friendly and made you feel at home. We felt very welcoming the moment we arrived until we left.

The hotel is around 2 km north of the village and accessible through a bad road that taxis do not like to take. The hotel sends therefore a "tuk tuk". No problem so far. The problem is that the communication with the hotel is difficult as often they do not hear the phone and in two occasions we had to wait 20 to 30' in the village. Also, if the food is really good, we experienced long delays for breakfast and dinner. The morning we left we had to wait 60 minutes for the breakfast.

Nice Hotel. Very good food. Excellent views on Nile and -far away- Aswan. Architecture and decoration of hotel and room in Nubian style. Very nice -although not always efficient- staff. Also very helpful to organize visits, trips, transport...

    - Unfortunately there is no WiFi in the room and my phone connection wasn’t very good so it was hard when I had to do a bit of catching up with friends from the room at the end of the day. - The swimming pool has a lot of potential, I advice the staff to care more about cleaning the water and fixing the missing tiles. It also seems like it’s designed to be infinity pool but it was not full enough for that. Bonus points if you can make it heated pool so guests can enjoy all year around. - Location of the property is not easy to reach. I think guests must book the pickup and drop of through the hotel to guarantee the car will drop you off and pick you up from the front of the hotel because normal private cars may not want to go through the village difficult streets and climb up the hill with their cars. - The management can help you with “toktok” transfer when you book activities like sand boarding or the shared transfer to Abu Simbel. This transport is not for all fitness levels, I imagine old people or people with back pain may struggle with this. It’s also sad that sometimes this is driven by very young kids (~10 years old)

    - Location of this hotel is breath taking. It’s on the top of a hill overlooking beautiful part of the Nile, Aswan Dam, and few nice islands. - The staff of the hotel are beyond excellent. They are super friendly, cheerful, very helpful when anything is needed. They hold up to the high standards and reputation of how lively Nubian people are (not sure if all staff are Nubian, just saying that because of the location of the hotel). - The personal touch from the staff is also amazing, for example when we book a tour through them, someone will be waiting for us in the reception and asking us how did we enjoy it 🥰 - The style of the hotel is quite authentic and it’s something you’ll have to try, whether you’ll like it or not, I think they did very good to adopt ancient Egypt and Nubian history in the details of the rooms, common areas, and even the chairs. It’s impressive that all of that is handmade. - Food is very good and reasonably priced. Don’t expect the local village food price but also not the very touristy prices you’ll see in other resorts. - We tried some activities like Abu Simbel and sand boarding and I can recommend both

They still on soft opening, not fully in operations. The pool was looking dirty, not well cleaned. Staff's need training and consistence on the service, once the hotel want to charge the rates as they are charging. Restaurant Menu options are limitaded, they could have more variety due to the location been so far from other places. They do not have a power generator, so eletricity is cut of during the day as in entire Egypt. However, that should have a sign informing that to Guests.

The style of the Resort as Nubian Culture. Room was beautiful with a stunning view. The location brings you a unique view and experience, but same time is far away from the city. Overall staff's was friendly.

It was a bit of a trek through the Nubian village to the resort - but it did look like the road was being improved.

We had a very nice time at Kato Dool, the food was delicious especially the breakfast - only as it is prepared to order you sometimes have to wait so it is best to order in advance. The balcony view was amazing, and we were able to walk down the hill for camel rides in the afternoon. The staff were very kind and helpful, we were very happy to stay here.

Bird droppings all over terrace. Too bad as the view is great. Dirty pool with plastic. Seemed not to have been cleaned for a while. It was however cleaned in the evening (we stayed 1 night). Be aware of location. Nice and quiet.

We visited 2 adults. 2 children (11,14). We had two adjesent rooms. We stayed 1 night. Rooms Clean , nice and beutiful Nubian style. Restaurant Food is really good and authentic. Best local food on our full journey around Egypt. Come in good time, as preparation takes a bit of time, which was perfectly fine for us - just something to be aware of. Location It is far away from everything. If you have booked own tours be aware that they might not want to drive here, but you can get a tuk-tuk 10 minutes drive to town. Great view of the nile and Aswan. Below the hotel there are camel rides - when tourists were not around some camels were hit and kicked (hard), not pleasant to watch. Staff So kind. And so helpful. Nirvana in the reception was great and really made the difference for us. Without her we would have given 7-8.

This is a special place. It is well designed to make the most of its incredible location at the top of sand dunes overlooking Aswan and the Nile. The buildings are lovely, bright, and colourful inside and out. My room was comfortable, clean, and had everything I needed for a three night stay. The bed was very comfy, and it had the best pillows. The staff were all polite, friendly and helpful. Nirvana, Hussein and Sara all helped to make my stay a memorable one.
