Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ChinaThere’s nothing I dislike. The hotel does not provide food yet. Hope host will open his roof restaurant soon.
Location: Excellent, located on Elephant Island, although a bit far from the airport, it's convenient for visiting scenic spots, next to the Nile River. 3 min walk to Wharf. Price: Affordable, especially during off-peak seasons. Service: the host was exceptionally helpful. He was very kind and provided detailed information about transportation, dining options, and activities, etc. Room: Clean and cozy with WiFi. There is a large terrace on 4th floor with a beautiful view of the Nile River.

United KingdomNothing.
The property is located in Elephantine Island on the Nile, which is in a quiet part of the town as the town can get very noisy. It is less than 5 minutes walk to the ferry dock. There is a public ferry every 10 mins from morning at 6am until about 10pm and only cost EGP10 per person. The property itself is clean and has basic facilities such as an air conditioner system, soap, small fridge and a cupboard. The rooms are located on the top floor and there is a terrace which is shared with 2 other rooms that you can sit down and enjoy the view of the Nile. There is also tea and coffee in the terrace which you can make yourself. The owner is nice and very persuasive. He collected us from the mainland on our first day and helped with our luggage to the Hotel. He recommend King Jamaica restaurant which has a very long wait for food in terms of timing but the food is well worth the time.

South KoreaWe stayed at La Terrace for one night. We arranged for airport pick-up for USD12 as we were arriving late. The driver dropped us off at the pier, we took the public ferry and the owner, Mohammed met us and helped us with our luggage to the hotel. Travel to the hotel was easy and not too much trouble. There are restaurants near the hotel as well which is quite convenient. Our rooms were clean, tidy and we had 3 large beds which were comfortable enough. Hair dryer was provided on request. There's also a terrace which you can sit at and enjoy the view of the Nile. The hotel met our expectations and is good value. We didn't have much time to explore the area, but we did go to a restaurant (King Jamaica) nearby which the owner recommended. Food was good as well. The real star is the owner. He was very responsive to our questions and helped us arrange for a car and driver to Abu Simbel and Luxor. He also recommended his contacts in Luxor and Cairo who helped us arrange a car, driver and guides for when we needed them. I would highly recommend arranging your travels in Egypt with Mohammed. We would have stayed for a second night if we could!

United KingdomThe guest house ran by Mohammed was absolutely perfect. The room was very clean and large, the shower was hot and powerful, the beds were comfortable. Mohammed is an excellent owner who helped organise our trip to Abu Simbel for a fair price and zero hassle. He speaks good English and is very friendly. He was able to answer all our questions and make good unbiased recommendations. It's located in a very safe Nubian area, the local people are some of the kindest I have ever met. I dropped my wallet and didn't notice until the next day, incredibly it was returned to me via Mohammed with all the cash still inside! My great thanks to both the woman that returned it and to Mohammed for liaising with her. The guest house is only 1 minute walk from the public ferry which runs all day/evening and is very reasonable at 10 Egyptian pounds each way. I would definitely stay here again if visiting Aswan.

UgandaI wish there was a chair in the room. Also, if you have a heavy baggage, be sure to get help as there is no cars on Elephant Islands.
The best part was the host. Mohammed was a super nice host - very responsive and easy to communicate. I got there after midnight, and I even had to leave the hotel at 3.30am for a super early morning tour on the same day, but thankfully he arranged the airport pickup and the boat. For the 3.30am boat ride, he stayed awake until around 3.40am to make sure that I made the boat ride on time. And the view from the terrace was magnificent. It was such a pity that I didn't have enough time to enjoy the view while my stay at the hotel. The room was clean with basic furniture - bed, wardrobe, a small fridge, a bedside table and a private bathroom. The hotel is a minute away from the jetty, and right before the jetty, there is a little shop where you can get almost anything. In a nutshell, it was worth the money.

EgyptOur stay at La Terrace guesthouse was brilliant. The rooms are clean and comfortable and are located at the second floor of a building on Elephantine Island. From the terrace, you can enjoy a beautiful view of river Nile while sitting for a drink. But the main feature of the place is Mohammed, the host, always available to assist and help you in organizing your trips and giving you excellent recommendations to make you live the real Nubian experience recently had the pleasure of staying at La terrace, and I must say it was an absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. Every aspect of my stay exceeded my expectations, and I can confidently say that it is deserving of a 5-star rating. The owner Mohamed is a very kind, very welcoming person♥️
