Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt makes all the places I stayed at less good, including some fancy ones
Everything. Front wheel beginning you feel like a guest and he is an incredibly kind host. There 2 rooms on the boat. Staying on the Nile on a quiet island with regular ferry (every 10min from 6am to midnight). Abdul is always around to help you with anything and makes your trip easy: last minute kayak booking, late arrival, early booking, felucca booking, airport pickup with kind driver, regular use of his smaller motorboat, breakfast at the time you choose. He is always on WhatsApp. You get all the convenience you want and more at the most reasonable cost you can imagine. My friend and I travelled the world for work and leisure and this is the first property I take time to review.

NetherlandsThe stay at Abdu’s houseboat was nothing but mind blowing. I stayed in the houseboat for 5 days with my mother. Abdu did not help us arrange everything in terms of tours (to Filae, Abu Simbel, a Nubian village, the botanical garden and more) and activities (Falluca sailing, Zaraha sand meditation, bird watching trip, exploring the Souk, swimming in the Nile, transfer to Luxor via Edfu and Kom Ombo and more), he also helped us with his second smaller boat to get everywhere, assimilate to the local culture by clothing and customs, cooked for us (he also made sure all food was well washed), helped us donate goods and clothes to the local school, and assisted us in getting tickets for the night train from Luxor to Caïro and simcards). His houseboat has everything you need for an authentic stay. Our cabin was spacious enough for the two of us and had an amazing view over the Elephantine Island. The terraces was facing the beautiful botanical garden on Kitchener Island. Due to the placement of the boat you have some shade in the morning and you can enjoy the sunset in the evening. If you look for a real experience and want to dive in the culture and day to day livestyle on the Nile, the boat is definitely something for you. We are truly great full for our experience and can definitely recommend a stay on this lovely houseboat!

NetherlandsThe boat is amazing and Abdel is the nicest host! He took us birdwatching in the morning and explained everything to us. You can also do cruises with him and go to Kom Ombo, Edfu, Esna. His small boat will bring you to all the nice places in Aswan. Really recommend and a authentic experience. Go for a walk with him on Elephantine Island to see more of the daily live in Aswan. Don’t hesitate and just book, you won’t regret it!

BelgiumWhile initially searching for a Nile cruise, I was hesitant about the big cruise boats due to numerous reviews pointing out issues with hygiene and the overall experience. This led me to explore other options, where I discovered Houseboat Hotel and Nile Cruises Zainoba. Immediately after booking, I received a message from Abdul. He asked me to contact him on WhatsApp, where we discussed various cruise options. Originally, we planned a three-day journey from Aswan to Luxor, but given the time constraints, it wasn't feasible. Abdul skillfully proposed an alternative plan to disembark at Edfu, arranging a car to Luxor from there. Upon check-out at our Aswan hotel, Abdul and his crew were ready at the docks. Their friendliness was outstanding, assisting us with our luggage and providing a detailed tour of the boat along with our travel itinerary. To our delight, they even arranged wine for each dinner on board! The cruise itself was relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable. The crew frequently engaged with us, sharing laughs and conversations, enhancing the experience. We were treated to three delicious local meals daily, and they always ensured we had everything we needed. The rooms were surprisingly spacious and comfortable. Each night, the boat would anchor at small islands along the Nile, resuming its journey post-breakfast. I am extremely pleased that we chose Abdul's boat over the larger commercial cruise ships. It was an unforgettable experience that I highly recommend to anyone seeking a unique and personal Nile cruise!

United StatesAbdul was a great host, super friendly and accommodating to whatever we needed for our trip, from the moment of pickup at the marina on his boat to the moment of drop off as we departed, we felt we were in good hands. We had a great time hanging out with him on the boat after our tours with such great views of the Nile River. We really enjoyed taking a boat cruise with him through Aswan.

South AfricaHappy overall.
The boathouse is owned and manage by Abdul, a lovely guy who built it himself apparently! He came to pick me up at the ferry station, which helped a lot as Elephantine Island is a bit of a maze. The boat is moored on a quiet side of the island with beautiful views of the river and the botanical gardens.

United KingdomThe boat is perfectly located, a 5minute walk from the ferry on Elephantine island; there is direct staircase to the boat from the land so you’re not stranded. Sitting on the deck watching sunset is pretty perfect. The host is exceptional and able to organise anything you require, negotiating good deals on your behalf. we felt like part of the family.

Everything was great during our stay! We were delighted with the boat and the surroundings of Aswan, where the captain of the ship organized a tour for us on a small boat. The captain of the ship was very friendly with us, suggested the best places for shopping !! very clean and with a super comfortable bed. Also in the morning we had a wonderful breakfast from the captain. The best and biggest recommendations!!!

United KingdomWe just loved the houseboat! We had only one night there but it was a wonderful one. The boat is clean, in a wonderful location with beautiful views of the river, and has a lovely deck to sit on for meals. The best thing of our stay was meeting Abdul, who was so helpful, generous, smart, and warm. He made sure our stay was just what we needed and went out of his way to make sure we could see everything we wanted to in a (too short!) time. I 100% recommend!

NetherlandsNothing. I would take the same trip again.
We loved our three-day cruise on the Nile! The views are amazing, the nights quiet and calm, and the recently renovated boat is very well equipped, with private bathrooms, mosquito screens, comfortable bedding, and storage space. We first booked a room on the boat for a night and then spoke with the owner and captain Abdul about making a short cruise on the Nile. Abdul was professional, flexible, reliable, and super kind: together we planned our dream trip, from Edfu to Aswan with multiple stops along the way. Because we weren’t on a big cruise ship, we could see the beautiful temples when they were almost deserted—a very special experience. We totally recommend Abdul and his crew!

United KingdomThe boat could be a bit more tidy and the sink area could be newer and cleaner as well the kettle. While it was lovely chilling on the deck there was offer a smell of sewage coming from the river. Not sure whether this was from the actual boat or from nearby boat. This is something which would probably need to be resolved.
Staying on a boat was a I’ve experience. The boat has a lot of character. It’s nice chilling on the deck at sunset! Overall was a nice experience. Nice to do for a few days but I was glad I was staying in a hotel after that.
