Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe breakfast is not to mention and the staff couldn't process the payment through booking, so the payment process was complicated.
The Hotel in the heart of Zamalek next to a metro station was situated perfectly for my two days stay. Compared to other hotels in the area of the same price range the room was relatively quiet, still you hear the street though.

EgyptPlease overlook the cleaning.
The Nile Zamalek Hotel is a get what you book. It is cheap and for its price good. I've had room 212, no nile view as via booking you can't book nile view. Room was quiet and kinda clean, but yes they could do more cleaning there (windows, toilet, bed sheets..). I asked for early check-in upfront and they've made it possible. Breakfast was an boiled egg, some cheese, one or two bread and some coffee. If you are in a rush let the staff know the evening before when you want to have your breakfast, otherwise you won't make it. It is not a buffet, more like an continental breakfast and it is beside the reception, sadly not on the roof. The roof is amazing and make much out of it, good food for dinner and reasonable prices. If you stay at the hotel please let the roof staff know so you don't have the minimum fee/entrance fee. Outsiders can enter the hotel and roof top, they will he charged an entrance fee and minimum charge. If you are a Traveller, don't look for small details, need a cheap, good located place to stay you will like it. The hotel is old but I think the staff does what they can, some of them have 24h shifts, be nice and they will be nice to you *as everywhere in Egypt. Zamalek itself has many cafes, restaurants, bars, super markets, boutiques, even a tattoo studio between all the embassies. Easy access to other areas with the metro station tight in front of the door or uber.

PakistanI am Pakistani so maybe I had different idea of breakfast. So the kick start if the day is breakfast. They may improve the breakfast quality, quantity, and options if their budget allows them.
I think hotel need to improve the breakfast options. Wi-fi service need serious improvements.

United StatesThis hotel is undeniably one of the worst places I've ever stayed worldwide. From the moment you arrive until you leave, it's a dreadful experience. The facility is dirty, nothing works properly, and the staff's attitude is aggressively unprofessional. The building, elevators, halls, and rooms are all filthy, furniture is impractical, bathrooms are unclean, and amenities like WiFi and air conditioning are non-functional. The overall condition is appalling, and it's baffling how the government overseeing hotels in Egypt permits this establishment to operate. My advice: avoid staying here at all costs.

United StatesI didn't like that person, couldn't clarify it was prepaid or not. The room didn't have wifi. The room didn't have a AC. The room didn't have a TV. I had to buy water. The list goes on. The only thing your paying for is to sleep. No diffrence than a Hostel.
I only liked that I was finally in Cairo Egypt after 19 hour flight. I couldn't wait to check out. For the price it's absolutely awful. In America for $70 you get a pretty Nice Motel 6 with cleansing and organization. IN Egypt I got bad service. The only way to relax and chill is by sleeping at a Resort. Hilton or Marriott
