Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceWhen we stayed there, there was no internet connection at the hotel, which I hope will be solved soon.
Wonderful view, after a tiring day it is refreshing to take the boat trip to the hotel. The view from the balcony is superb. The staff is very friendly and the food was very delicious.

GermanyWell, the service is not of a Parisian palace, but I gave them a few tips to improve. Their English is not perfect, but we always managed to communicate with body language and Google Translate Conversation.
The hotel, the view, the absolute quietness. The food was delicious, and I loved switching between the sun deck near the room and dive in the dark blue Nile from the stairs behind the restaurant several times when I was hot. The island is amazing. It's a secret still well-hidden from tourists. Something special happens between the still water and the sunlight, 50 km north of the Tropic of Cancer. Especially in the evening. The light is magical. The boat trip to the Philae Temple on Agilkia island was organised by the hotel. Finally the next day, the kayak trip to see the two remaining columns of the original temple and arch in water of the old temple on Bigeh island, going around the temple and around Philae island was my best day in Egypt. I passed a few meters away from the police by the temple and they said nothing. I expected them to tell me it's forbidden, but no. In the south-west of Philae island, there was a strong wind coming from the high dam. I struggled rowing against stream but the guys of the hotel went looking for me and dragged me back with the boat. Definitely recommend.

BelgiumThe breathtaking location is marred by an excellent treatment by Tamar and his colleagues, who are like a family and would make you feel part of it during your stay. They will try to help you with any request you might have during your stay. You do not even need to leave the island as their chef and staff can provide you with an outstanding Nubian dinner (as vegetarians they even adapt to our dietary requirements). Their generous Egyptian breakfast facing the Nile will surely give you the strength you need for exploring neighbour Philae temple or just to enjoy the afternoon in their comfortable common area.

SwitzerlandThe management of the place is very unprofessional, which translates in constant issues. There is no wifi, which makes it difficult to plan anything outside of the hotel. The place is not well taken care of, with stuff lying around the property. There is an ugly old dock in ruins in front of the bed rooms. The food is mediocre. During our stay, a loud and kitsch baby birthday party took over the restaurant, ruining all our hopes of peace and quiet for the night. The driver offered by the manager was 3x the market price. The coordination of the boat transfers is horrendous, and the pricing not transparent, leading to last minute overcharging, courtesy of the management. Overall, this stay was supposed to be a highlight of the trip - it was not at all. Favor some other hotels in the islands, there are some lovely ones for similar prices.
Staying on the islands around Philae is a wonderful idea. The property has great potential, thanks to its location. The old man taking care of the restaurant is lovely and cares a lot about the guests.
