Lot of construction going on but that is temporary.

Great location, I had a room overlooking the Nile…the view is wonderful. Room was nice enough, clean and suited my needs for a family of four with the sofa bed. Bathroom could do with some upgrading. Didn’t much like the breakfast, was ok, could be improved, omelets were good.

Renovation on the restaurant and the front lobby, the lobby was also the only place to sit and chill, and the pool area closes at 5. Hence there is a choice of 1 restaurant available only. The room that we stayed in did not smell too nice.

The room was not properly cleaned and too basic for the high cost. Some maintenance is required. Aircon is very noisy, curtains falling off, etc.

Hotel is well located close to most attractions. The breakfast was also good with reasonable choices. Awesome panoramic view from the rooftop where breakfast is served.

There were no toiletries like body lotion, shower cap, etc. provided. Bathroom slipper was not there but was given on being requested and the drinking water heater did not work in our room 7004.

Location of hotel, view of the Nile and front desk staff were excellent. The manager gave us a very good room with a view of the Nile.

We had asked for a takeout breakfast as we were scheduled to leave early in the morning for our day trip. This is common in Cairo and it was also the holy month of Ramadan so most hotels provide this service. We had mentioned that we were vegetarians, in spite of this, we were dismayed to see ham and meat in our breakfast boxes, kept alongwith cheese and veggies. It was not a pleasant experience, we just had the bread with the jam. We gave away our packets to our hosts in the Oasis that we visited as we felt really bad about wasting/throwing away food.

Clean room with comfortable beds. The staff were polite and friendly. We just stayed for a night but check in and check out was smooth.

Staff was okay Parking entrance was closed throughout our stay and had to carry luggage on ramps uphill/downhill, though was a short distance.

Our stay at Novotel El Borg was eventful due to a medical emergency which caused us to extend unexpectedly. Staff at the hotel- from housekeepers to front of desk - could not have been more helpful or reassuring under difficult circumstances. The hotel was very comfortable and in-house eating options were very satisfactory. When the air conditioning malfunctioned at one point, it was immediately attended to and repaired. For a well priced, four star hotel- it met and exceeded our expectations.

Expensive for a fairly standard hotel experience. Lunch in the rooftop cafe was expensive and not particularly good.

The pool closes a bit too early, at 18h. It would have been great if the pool would close one hour later.

Noisy room

Nice hotel in good location with friendly staff. Breakfast was very nice. Nile facing room gave a lovely view but was very noisy with Entertainment boat out front of hotel pumping out music til 3 am or later. Would choose a rear facing room next time.
