for this hotel soundproof was not enough. ı listened horns of the cars till morning. For this level hotel, it should be heat insulated, solar and sound control doors and windows. Thr elevators was not enough and slow but they were trying to fix others.

Room was good. Staff was 100/100 perfect. Clean and good bedding to sleep. Breakfast was very good with magnificent waitress. And a very good pianist was playing dinner music..

The hotel is located overlooking Nile river and close to a lot of attractions, such as Egyptian Museum. We also liked the convenience of being able to walk around and visit little shops and restaurants within a short distance. The beds were comfortable but room was outdated and lacked modern features. We also had no hot water while showering, we contacted front desk and were old to allow sometime for temperature to rise, we waited 10 mins and nothing. We called next day and maintenance came to check and showed us how to turn position it, after he left we still had no hot water. Breakfast was great and offered a lot of options both traditional and american. Restaurants in the property we did not like was Opia. Elevators were slow and outdated. Overall the experience was good and we do recommend. There was a driver there outside property name "Fauzi" he was a real find and took us to most places.

They messed up with our reservation made by booking.com. Eventually I had to call international number for booking.com to resolve the same and it almost cost me $70 on international roaming. Another issue is that the elevators are under maintenance hence it takes long time for it to arrrive.

They did not have two non-smoking rooms reserved for us even though specifically noted due to allergy issues in our reservation. After 30 min checking in they did provide upper level rooms non smoking

Lifts take ages to come - to be fair they are refurbishing so they're not all in use and that should improve. A few of the bars listed on the website didn't seem to exist (but maybe we just didn't find them). One of our room balconies had a barrier in front of it with no explanation.

Room was huge - if anything too big if you don't like a hike to the toilet! Views were good. Hotel is very close to the Egyptian Museum - walking there does mean crossing a few roads which is an interesting experience if you're not used to it - or getting a cab is easy. Walking across 6th October Bridge to Zamalek is a bit easier (but further) and worth doing. Breakfast was decent but expensive so we didn't bother most days.

cost of laundry was not clear and front counter was not able to clarify the extra charge. I had to leave it as I was running late to catch my plane. No one was able to clarify the extra charges on laundry and that was disappointing.

cleanliness of the bathroom

there needs to be remodeling to bathrooms and carpet of the room I stayed in. the view was to the parking lot of another building. but the bathroom care was not adequate. I was in a tour, arrived early and for the amount paid I should have received a better room. the second room that was part of the tour package was lacking in service to the bathroom. I found that the bathtub was not cleaned and the shampoo, and body wash from the previous occupant was still there, I stayed 2 nights after and the same happened. room was 1725

Security staff and cleaning staff are constantly in your face pressuring you to give them money. It's so blatant it's crazy. Not expected from a five star establishment.
