Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI got ate up by mosquitoes as I slept, woke up with four bites on my left arm. There were three cats in the dining room as I ate breakfast. I had to ask the staff to chase them away. Ants were crawling in the sugar bowl. The staff was quick to bring me fresh sugar.
The location was good, staff was friendly and breakfast was decent.

Pakistan1. Reception staff struggled with English which is always frustrating as a tourist. My Translator mobile application was a big help in this regards! 2. Wile at night and sleeping time it was very quiet and peaceful, during the day it was noisy as there was a school near by. 3. While on day 1, my room was made, on my second day the room was not refreshed/ cleaned by the staff while I was away.
Given the price, the value was excellent (right down to a complementary fruit basket in my room on Day 1)! Staff tried helping in many ways, and were professional and very courteous. The old men staff in the kitchen were very sweet and accomodating. The room was spacious, the location provided easy access to the Corniche and other highlights in Luxor, with plenty of taxis on the road - all important for a first time tourist. Having a swimming pool, at that price, was also exceptional. I felt very safe and comfortable while inside the hotel.

EgyptThe hotel is a little dull and quiet especially at night, breakfast was very poor, our room was super cold and ac works only on cold mood. I was offered to change room but I preferred to stay because I had my bags unpacked already. The hotel is a bit old but I was told that they do work on renovation.
The location is amazing, a few steps from the river and the family's boat that takes you to the west bank. The hotel lies within walking distance from the luxor temple, Karnak temple and sphinx avenue..there are lots of banks around the hotel. Staff are helpful and welcoming. I was offered a room a few hours before the check in time.

EgyptThe Windsor Hotel facilities are a bit aged, but the staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a good value for the money. Don't expect a 4 star facility, but they provide the basics. There were very few people staying in the hotel when we were there, maybe that is telling. Wifi did not work in the room but did work in the lobby. Hot water was a maybe. Again, the hotel has seen better days but is located near the Nile and ferry service. You get what you pay for and I was not disappointed in the Windsor Hotel considering the price point and included breakfast.

JapanSadly there was no warm water despite staff trying to fix it
The beautiful girl at the front desk went out of her way to provide shampoo & conditioner and didn't accept a tip for it, what is amazing for Egypt standard! For some reason there was no warm water despite someone trying to fix it and like in many Egyptian Hotels there was no shampoo for the hair and no hair dryer. But the management tried to fix the things when inquired so that is good on their part. The hotel is quite large and the pool is huge makes you think that one day back, it must have been a very wonderful hotel. Didn't have time to try out the pool though. It was clean and the staff were all very nice. The location is very near the ferry if you should have a late or early transfer to the other side of the river and also there are many museums around it and that is very helpful.

NicaraguaThe flush on my toilet didn't work properly and wasn't fixed, despite me informing the management. My room was only cleaned once whilst I was there.
Breakfast was simple, but fine. Staff were friendly and eager to please. Evening menu was limited but generous portions and food cooked and prepared well.

Italythe reception girl, at the time of check in, with the excuse that she had no change, did not give me back the change of 5 Egyptian pounds, and she did not do it the next day either. It would be appropriate to be more fair towards guestes, who have the right to leave a tip or not, and not to take it of their own free will. However, I would have left a much larger tip if there had been more professional demeanor.
location. There was a problem with the lights into the romme, but the receptionis (Boy) was really helpfull and cheanged immediatly the room.
