Dinner and lunch can definitely improve. It was always the same vegetables and no meat.

Amazing view! Bungalows are comfortable: hot water, good mattresses and no bedbugs.

needs some maintenance , in general (i.e. bathroom facilities, seating areas in front of the cabin - some chairs and tables are broken and needs to be fixed), and more experienced staff - we wished we could have more conversations with locals and learn more about them, but English was quite a problem. We managed on kinda “survival mode”. It would make it much more attractive more experienced guides (better English skills). A place and local people have LOTS to offer! P.s There is no wifi - for those who wish to stay online (we personally did not need it, it was much better without it!) The only true minus we find is the cost of transportation from the airport to the lodge . It costs around 51€ (55$) only one way. Though it is remote area, and it requires quite a lot of fuel to get up there, and prices of fuel are recently high, it is still overpriced. We would suggest that to offer better price for the return transport (return discount). Be aware that car transport is the only way to get there if you have big luggage. If you travel light , you can take tuktuk/bajaj for half a price , but it is of course much longer (nice experience , though)

We absolutely loved our stay here. Local staff really tries their best to accommodate your needs. Despite some language barriers, we got good understanding and felt super welcome. Accommodation is simple, but very charming and beds are comfortable.Views from the top are incredible. Best views we were privileged to see during our stay in Ethiopia.Food is good , freshly prepared from local resources. Place to be if you want to experience peace , tranquility and simple life on the of the mountain . Just sit and observe birds, occasional monkey visitors, gazelles and live truly in the moment . A place to come back to when in Ethiopia.

Sorry to have to gripe, but a few things left me with a bad taste… No towel or toilet paper were supplied with the room. I only stayed for one night, so didn’t bother asking for either (I’m sure they would have been supplied). Arguing the price of the room was a sore point to have left on. I had reserved on this site for £29 per night including taxes. Without electricity my phone had died and I couldn’t prove it. The staff did not have access to the booking and insisted the price was $40 USD + 15% tax. This isn’t such a bother, but I really had to push the point for quite some time and ask to speak to the manager. Bad vibes. The guide situation could really be a bit clearer. I really liked my guide, however I wasn’t aware he was ‘my guide’ until the manager named him as such the following day. I had intended to go solo for much of my trip, except for the village visit where a guide is required. As soon as I arrived he asked me if I was ‘ready to go’. He didn’t name himself as a guide and didn’t discuss pricing until I asked. He then told me it was 200 birr for the village visit plus 800 birr for a ‘trek with personal guide’. I told him I was broke and would like to do the village only. After the village he invited me to town for some honey wine. The bar was fun, but I didn’t realise I was paying 800 birr for this. How is this a trek? We agreed that the next day he would take me to the weavers, a coffee ceremony, and the waterfall. All but the waterfall turned out to be shut. I would have been happy to have guided myself to the waterfall. When I asked kept asking about the weavers and coffee ceremony earlier / throughout the day, my guide avoided answering. I did not find out until late in the day. I feel the choice whether or not to have taken a guide based on all the available information was taken from me. If it was just for the waterfall I’d have refused.

The village and view are amazing. you will have a great night’s sleep! The bed is super comfy. The village is a magical experience, and one I’ll not forget.

It's not an upmarket place. And that's ok. But little to no effort was.made over the years to keep the place in an acceptable state of repair. Moreover the staff will milk you with transport costs. So it's better to spend more money on accommodate in town and come to dorze for a day trip. Disappointing experience

A true African experience. We especially loved the tours to the surrounding attractions, tribal communities and national parks. The tour to the Omo Valley was fascinating and such a fabulous experience for us and our children. The lodge offer an affordable alternative to online tours so we ended up saving over 50%. We felt incredibly safe at the lodge - it’s a safe haven and an absolute paradise overlooking the Great Rift Valley. The bungalows are remarkably well kept and comfortable, well equipped with clean bathrooms and mosquito nets. Each bungalow has a hammock and a balcony area with seating so you can chill and take in the epic views. We traveled with our 5 children to educate them and give them an experience of a life time - which was a big success! The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. The manager took great care in ensuring our stay was comfortable. The tour guides were well experienced, highly educated in the surrounding areas and incredibly respectful of their customers and the tribal communities. There was a continuous supply of healthy, locally sourced and cooked food as well as clean water and fresh fruits. The evening entertainment (tribal singing and dancing around the fire) provided by the local community was breathtaking and it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. The Dorze tribe are by far the friendliest people on planet earth. WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!

The view on the Abaja lake, surrounding hills and villages was stunning! The owner and staff were very friendly, helpful and interested in interacting with me as a visitor, and eager to share their knowledge about this beautiful area. Great locally sourced organic food!
