Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. GermanyEverything was fine. There was a problem with the oven, but the e-mail service was super fast and kind. They wanted to fix the problem asap, but I rented the apartment for just 3 nights. So they could fix the problem after I left. They want to offer me a small discount for my next rent.

FinlandThe information and pictures were slightly misleading. This is not a rooftop apartment, but 7th floor in 9-floor building. A rooftop from neighbouring lower building was visible (which is good that people living in that building did not see to the balcony). For some reason, the pictures included some from a terrace restaurant Periscope in an entirely different building closer to the city center (which would suggest this room is in that building instead). The keys were available in a yet another building, a pizzeria, and the information on how to get to the apartment was a bit complicated. The room itself has a nice balcony with lake view, so there's really no reason to give wrong information about rooftop terrace.

ItalyI only have one major complaint about the property: the lack of curtains or roller shutter to block the sun. The apartment has big windows with a nice view, however in a country like Finland, where in months like June there is no actual nighttime, it would be important to be able to block the sun COMPLETELY. The apartment only has blinds which let way too much light in, which makes no sense to me.
The apartment is very modern and well equipped. the view on the river is nice.

Francemy only problems with it were the carpets on a vernished floor, they were like an extra trap. the other 2 problems were the matress was a bit hard for me but they changed it fast. also, most furniture was low for my size and health problems, so I had to use one of the sofa back pillows to sit on to manage to get up more easily. besides that it was perfect, the kitchen and shower were perfect for my health problems.
getting the key was just a problem due to the restaurant that had decided to close up earlier that night. but we managed to work it out by contacting the manager so we had fewer problems that I had worried about.

Bulgaria1= coming to a foreign place with luggage on our hands, we arrived at the location at the time that we declared and then understood that we had to walk first to some restaurant in a location 20 min from the place to collect keys 2- When we tried to phone the property, the phone provided was not working at all - its not valid. 3 - we found the phone of the restaurant, but people were very rude and after we walked to the restaurant to collect nobody knew anything about the property and couldn't tell us information about which exactly entrance we need to be at. Kept repeating about the e-mail, but we had no access to internet. 4- we walked back to the place of stay with all our bags and on the way found free wifi to check about the instruction on email. Basically, If you have no internet, its impossible to find out anything about your check-in place or information and no phone to contact anyone. 5- after arrival, we find out there is no toilet roll in the property- not even one!!! there was no hair dryer too. They brought us hairdryer after we wrote to them, but it couldn't be used in the first 24h. The bed was uncomfortable for 2, so one of us stayed to sleep on the sofa. 6 - the property owner had so many requirements that we felt stressed upon departure not to forget something important!
The apartment was ok, with good view. The property management reacted quick to bring us the missing hairdryer, but are not reachable in other way.
