If you are looking for a private exclusive yet familiar and super cozy retreat, this is THE ONE!! The igloos are simply gorgeous and one night we were granted the best Northern Lights we could imagine - an unforgettable glowing night sky directly viewable from our bed when looking through the huge igloo glass windows around and above us. The restaurant with its super cozy atmosphere and fireplace also was a real highlight, breakfast and meals delicious. It is also the „go-to“ place for a cozy hot drink after an excursion out in the cold. The staff is super friendly and helpful (thanx Henna, for all your help and numerous cappuccinos 😊!!) We took part in several activities the hotel offered: - Riding with the huskies (do it if you can!! It’s simply the best if you are in for an adventure!! It‘s a really thrilling ride , and you get to steer your own 2-person husky sledge pulled by 6 eager huskies through beautiful nature) - Snow-mobiling (also hugely recommended!! Beautiful nature!). On all activities you never go in big groups but just with very few people, very appreciated. - Aurora Hunting in minivan: at first we thought: is this really necessary? Or wouldn’t it be enough to view (hopefully occurring) Auroras from the igloo? But during our 4 night stay 2 nights were predicted to be pretty cloudy in the resort area, thus we took 2 tours and the guides took us to remote scenic places further North/ West where the skies were open and we got to see the lights!! - Snowshoeing: as the resort is surrounded by beautiful nature, this was also a great activity that we recommend not to miss A very very special thanks to the couple owning the hotel - both Nina and Pasi were super kind, helpful and flexible (us joining Northern Lights minibus tour one night last minute) and made this stay simply unforgettable - we felt like being among friends! And also to the great guides Björn& AnneMarie!

A big THANK YOU to the entire AQ team. They were all too kind, very attentive and caring and made our stay an awesome experience. The igloos are great: very cozy, well equipped with stylish interior design and offer fantastic view. Compliments as well to the chefs. The food was amazing and we fell in love with the homemade bread. We had a lot of fun and unforgettable moments on our excursions: husky safari, snowmobile tour and aurora hunting all with nice and caring tour guides. We plan to come back and stay for more days in this winter wonderland :)

The repetition of a very restricted lunch and dinner menu each day was a drawback. It would have been more pleasant to have a broader range of dining options for a more diverse and satisfying culinary experience.

This resort was more than our expectations. It’s not only for the cozy and wonderful igloo, but also every single requirement we asked. We travel with a kid and an old lady. Nina, Pasi, Hanna and everyone in the resort took care of us very well. We didn’t drive by ourselves, but the resort arranged the transportation for us and the driver was so kind and helpful. Btw, the food was the most delicious in Finland. Many thanks to AQ. We will definitely visit again.

This is a super luxurious property with the generous staff to match. The Igloo cabins are made to the highest quality, warm and cozy. Nina, Pasi and staff go the extra mile to make sure your every need is met. Husky and snowmobile tours easily organised and the Northern lights tour expertly executed - complete with hot blackberry juice. We would love to return here again.

AQ is a jewel in the snow! What more can I say? The room is spacious and beautiful! The igloos are nestled in in the snow covered forest and the views are stunning. The restaurant feels like an art gallery and the staffs are very nice. We took both Aurora and reindeer safari and lucky enough to see the northern light. Thank you AQ and also to Nina and Pasi for being such a great host.

AQ is much over our expectations. The Igloos are just settled among the snow covered forests. We could also often find reindeers strolling around in near forest, and even around the Igloo. The scenery of the surrounding is a real fairy land. The Igloo is very comfortable and warm. Both the Igloo house and interior design are very cozy and paid attention to each detail. The decorations of the restaurant are something like an art gallery. The chef also makes very nice Nordic cuisine for guests. The high light was the driving snowmobile through the trail among the white forest. It was a so beautiful experience. We even met reindeers on the way of driving. Especially the guide was a very gentle and friendly young man. He told us many stories about the local nature and tried many ways to let us enjoy the driving. All the staffs are very nice. Nina and her husband are very friendly to the guests. They talked to us like friends. We got a most beautiful memories in AQ in our Finnish Arctic Circle trip.

If there is something to write here would be about the restaurant menu, not about the dishes as they were delicious but I would expect the menu options to change every few days in order to have some more variety.

Simply put, we had an amazing time during our stay. Nina, Pasi and the rest of the team at Aurora Queen Resort really make you feel like home and will tailor your stay with activities in order to enjoy the amazing lapland nature. The rooms are superbly decorated and functional giving you first row seat on magnificent views. We will definitely return for more mesmerizing moments!

This one of the the best resorts we have ever stayed in. The service is incredible, the igloos are extremely beautiful, food is amazing and the nature is just... wonderful!!!! Ah and did I mentioned the food and the chefs - the top! Nina and Passi (the owners) are so kind and warm people. They went out of their way to provide us anything we asked, helped us with organizing transport, activities and even were on a constant watch for the Aurora and notified all guests once the sky was green :) They also provided a lot of vegetarian meal options for my husband upon request. I definitely 100% recommend Aurora Queen Resort for all travel junkies :)

A very minor point for improvement: It would have been nice to have more options for lunch at the hotel restaurant, as there were limited options that get a bit repetitive. That being said, the options that are there are very tasty.

We visited this hotel for our honeymoon, and it was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. The hotel, the igloos (rooms) and facilities were stunning, as was the nature around it. The hotel is located in the (very snowy) forest, and the whole experience was magical. First off, the owners, Nina and Pasi are extremely charming, friendly, and warm people. They surprised us with some sparkling wine for our honeymoon when we first entered our igloo. Beyond that, they catered to our every request, and were always asking how we were, whether we were enjoying ourselves, and were interested to get to know us at every opportunity. They are wonderful, and they are a reason alone to visit this hotel. The other staff members of the hotel are also amazing, extremely friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic. It is clear that everyone cares about the customers and providing them with a good experience. We want to make a special mention to Henna, who makes anyone happy after a few moments of talking to her, Bjorn, with his contagious enthusiasm about nature, and Anne-Marie, who surprised us by being a fluent Greek speaker! All of these people made our stay special. The hotel itself is quite secluded, but it offers various activities that are fun and interesting, like snowmobiling, husky riding, and others. If you’re lucky, you will be able to see the aurora lights. It’s important to know that this is not guaranteed, as it depends on various factors. We were lucky enough to see them on our first night, and I must say that it was a truly unique experience. The hotel restaurant is also great, especially during night time. On one of the nights I had a reindeer steak, and it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had! I can’t say enough about how special the igloos are. You have to experience it to understand it! This is definitely a special hotel that offers an unforgettable experience to those seeking a winter and especially a Christmasy retreat. We would highly recommend it :)

Nina and Posi are there morning noon and night to make sure your stay is perfect, and every member of their team simply can't do enough for you. This is by far the best winter destination I have ever been to so far. Aurora Queen Resort was definitely a big part of that. Nina and Pasi the owners are just lovely. Helpful, super welcoming, friendly and passionate. We didn’t arrive until 1.15am yet Pasi was regularly checking in on us (we were driving from Rovaniemi airport circa 3 hours) and greeted us when we arrived. We did the husky safari (a must), northern lights safari and snowmobiling. We felt very lucky that we actually managed to see the lights and they were completely mesmerising. The tour guide for the lights and snowmobiling is so enthusiastic about his job, you can’t help but be very engaged with him. The waitresses also super lovely, always willing to have a chat and recommend dishes or explain anything you were unsure of. The igloo. What a view! It was hard not to just stay in there the whole trip as everything was so beautiful. Really luxurious and cosy. The underfloor heating is a great touch. Designed by Pasi and interior design by Nina, the igloos definitely ticked all of our boxes. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay, see you! ❤️

If you are looking for a hotel which offers unparalleled views, an intimate and luxurious experience, fantastic food and warm and friendly hosts, look no further. Pasi and Nina, the husband and wife team and also the hosts of the hotel, made our stay of 4d 3n go by so quickly that we would have loved to stay longer if we could. Their hospitality, generosity, warmth exceeded all our expectations. You can see their passion and dedication in every detail of this property. The hotel is in Kakslauttanen, which you can get to by bus or taxi, and you can contact the hosts for a pick up from the bus stop there if needed. They responded quickly via email after our arrival time was delayed. The room is well furnished and has a beautiful view of the sky. It has a clean and modern bathroom, hot running water, heated flooring and a coffee machine. If you are lucky, you can catch the northern lights from your room as well. You can arrange for an in-house experience (snow mobile, snow shoeing) or external safaris (husky sledding, ice karting etc.) from the hotel. We had most of our meals in the property which were finnish cuisine, prepared by the in-house chef. The food and drinks were skillfully prepared and of restaurant standard, with prices comparable to other food and beverage options in the vicinity. We would highly recommend this property for couples who are looking for a special and unique experience in Lapland 👍🏻
