How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Fantastic buffet breakfast and option to sit indoors or outdoors. Most guests lingered over breakfast enjoying the sunshine, the peaceful environment and the view. The place has a lovely ambience - there are lots of flowers and a beautiful decor -this is perfect as a base for touring the island. We also hired bicycles from the nearby campsite. The hostess was charming and we felt very welcome and well looked after. I can highly recommend this place.

The rooms were a bit outdated, even though everything worked fine. You cannot sit straight up in your bed while leaning against the backwall, because the lamps are hanging too low. This is a very silly mistake. Toilet need repairs: broken toilet seat and broken sink tap cover. I got the feeling the hotel is understaffed.
The location of the hotel is very nice. The staff was friendly, but not visible. Once you find them,they are very willing to help though.

the only problem was the lack of curtains in the shower but that was really nott an issue.
wonderful personell, always available and cordial. The owner of the place is a sweetheart and we have had the chance to interact with her several times.

After reservation we were informed that there is no breakfast because of low-season, I don't know if we got any compensation for it.

It was a little bit drafty in the rooms but this is clearly a property aimed to hold mostly summertime visitors.
I am especially thankful for the vegan breakfast that had been organized for me by the owner. It could be extended with porridge though, since our children usually eat porridge for breakfast.

No deficits with the property. The property manager Beatrice was very gracious, hospitable, friendly and professional.
The Property was very secluded, rural and quaint. There was a beautiful view of the ocean as well and nearby postal museum. It was a great experience.

Cleaning of the room during the stay is not included.
Breakfast was included and OK, but e.g. jam would have been nice with the toast. It was convenient to use the refrigerator and microwave in the (evening-closed) dining room. The location is convenient for different shorter trips on the eastern side of Åland; both by car and bicycle.

The restaurant was not open and quite distance to the next open one. The breakfast was quite narrow.
Nice and cozy place with great views. Clean rooms. Dogs allowed.

Excellent service (we arrived after midnight, key was waiting for us outside the building, we got information to our phone by text mail), friendly advice to visit Stickstugan in Järsö, good breakfast, clean room. Everything was OK, thank you😊☀️😎

Overpriced for such room size and service level. Sea is absolutely shallow, so swimming is difficult.

The price. The breakfast was POOR, not even cheap scrumbled eggs or sausage. In the restaurant there was no activity other than the breakfast. Nothing could ne bought from the hotel, not even a bottle of soda. With this price we would have gotten a much better service and room from somewhere else, this was a disappointment.
This would have been very ok if the price was much cheaper than 150e. The sea view costs quite much, the sea was far away and what we saw was practically garden. The room was quite big and clean.

Very hot room with no air conditioning. There was not any net for moscitos in the window so it was not possible to keep window open for cooling. B&b tells it is pet friendly but the only thing for a pet was extra price for dog per night 25€. It actually did not include anything not even a water bowl. The staf was unfriendly and breakfast was not good, coffee & cucumber and tomatoes were finished and need to ask them both two mornings.
There was really nothing to like.

The dining room although not serving regular meals due to covid-19 was bright, cozy with a lovely view of the ocean. Beatrice and her staff went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. We had a group of 4 adults and 3 very active and demanding 2 years old boys. The staff never made us feel like the boys were a burden or a disturbance. We also had two of the best nights of sleep we've had with our twins in a long time. The room was quiet, dark and the beds were very comfortable. Also, a very nice and recently updated sauna was a perfect end to our trip to Åland!
