Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

VietnamThe jump from bathroom back to room was surprisingly high and uncomfortable. Although warning labels are inside the bathroom, additional warning at check-in might be a good idea.
Good price/quality ratio for the breakfast.

FinlandI wished there would have been rye bread for breakfast. I didn’t communicate with the staff at all during my stay, maybe saying good morning to everyone rather than being quiet?

FinlandOverall rate for setup good and for staff excellence. Breakfast also good. Like the concept and prefer this more than big brand hotels
Mainly minor-small issues in building like stairs on main entrance wasn't comfy when need to enter desk together with big/heavy luggages. In room shower space was quite tight and unfortunately showering had extra challenge because drain cover in floor level had very loose fitting and intend to came off.

FinlandPillows and beds were too soft for our taste, resulting in bit of a sore back after two nights but that is of course up to each individual's personal preferences. Sound insulation seemed rather skimpy. Shower, flushing and other noises were easily heard from other rooms. If you require absolute silence and serenity, bring ear plugs. Or look elsewhere.
Good location; a walking distance from downtown Jyväskylä. The bus-/train station is mere 500m/0.3miles away along the same street you step out to. Also impossible to miss if you arrive by your own car/motorcycle. The hotel is close to E75 south-/northbound exits. Just get off E75, head towards downtown for like 900m/half a mile and you're there. Breakfast was run-of-the-mill hotel breakfast; nothing spectacular but got the job done. Coffee and tea (and possibly cocoa) were available for free up until 22:00/10:00 PM. If you're looking to spend the majority of your day(s) elsewhere around the city and/or simply need a place to put the luggage down, grab a shower and sleep, this would be a good candidate.

AustraliaThe corridor doors are awfully noisy when auto-closing, on steel frames, wonder if they can sort that out because that was the only and major fault. The bathroom could have a tray in shower for shaver but that did not turn out to be a problem. I was in a twin room and suitcase had to be on floor but fitted.
Easy walk along 1 road from train station, maybe 5-9 minutes. Free tea and coffee, printed my travel docs for me, lobby shielded from weather for auto check in, umbrellas, (did not check out if there were free bikes), food good for the price, nice dining/workspace areas, well-designed rooms, free powder dryers and washers, microwave-mini kitchen in corridors. Chromecast.

FinlandSound proofing was quite bad. Especially the hallway doors make a huge banging noise that shakes the whole floor. Please put stoppers on the hallway doors to fix the biggest banging.
Free coffee and tea all day long was a great plus, as was the shared floor kitchen. Staff was friendly and efficient. Rooms were small but the space very well used. Three bed room has a nice solution with a foldable third bed.

FinlandSound proofing of the rooms wasn't the best but the hotel and it's guests were calm so it didn't bother and we slept well. It was noticeable in the morning and might have bothered if one tried to sleep longer. Blackout curtains were a tad too small so the sunlight in the Finnish summer made one wake up quite early.
Beds were very good to sleep in and rooms execptionally clean. Corona measures were good (even gloves given to handle things in the breakfast buffet). Breakfast had good options and lots of organic ones too. Overall a good basic hotel to stay in. Free electrical car charging included in the parking price was a definite positive surprise.

FinlandIt would be great if the hotel would offer free parking space for the guests. Ideally the rooms could be a little bit bigger but it was ok, we knew the size of the room when booking. The third bed in the room is partially under a table and you must be careful when getting out of bed so that you would not hit your head (it happened to our child).
The breakfast buffet was good. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We slept well, the air conditioning worked perfectly and we were not sweating despite the hot weather! The staff is very helpful. The hotel is situated very near to the railway station and basically you can walk everywhere. WIFI connection was very good.
