Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TurkeyWhen we got our room, we asked for an extra bed for our 7 year old son. In the e-mail that came later, it was said that the size of the room was not enough, but he would say that if we stay in that room with our child, we have to pay 40 Euros more. When we came to the room, two narrow beds were waiting for us. It's really hard to sleep with the child, however, they charged us money. Okey, I have no objection to it. However, at least a double room with a large bed could be given.
The location of the facility is very nice. It is also interesting that it is an old palace.

FinlandThe rooms are located in the so-called SPA building, a colossal, grey, ugly and worn out concrete monster. Feels like being in Soviet Union in 1980. Besides the actual SPA is small and not very exciting. Should also be noted that the place is remote and the only food options are the restaurants at site. Food was delicious but horribly overpriced (but that’s the only food option available).
Location is beautiful and actual manor is also very nice.

GermanyI haven't slept in such a narrow bed since I was a child! Totally inadequate for adults. You can't get a decent night's rest like that.
Smallest bed I have ever seen in a hotel room! Not suitable for an adult person, rather for children. Slept very bad. Room equipment from the 70s, both the furniture and the bathroom. Apparently there has been no investment since then. The hotel is simply ugly inside and out. The room rate is far too high for this. But the location is very nice. The staff is very friendly.

SwitzerlandNo products in the bathroom, except soap; the buffet restaurant was very poor: depressing atmosphere and closing time at 8 pm (!); we had to wait 45 minutes for a salad. Globally, we had the impression that the hotel was favouring the quantity of guests rather than the quality of the stay; the breakfast room was very crowded, had imposed times for the guest and charged extra for having a cappucino: the only choice was american coffee, which is rather poor for a 4 star hotel...

FinlandThe congress side of hotel is awful! In hallways it smells like in an hockey teams changing room. They have done a poor job of up keeping the place. Its like trip back to the 90’s. The spa was nice BUT it was filthy, they hadn’t done any cleaning between saturday and sunday. We came to the spa at 1200 sunday after the checkout. Both of the jacuzzi’s surroundings where full of last nights empty drink and beer glasses (and they bar was closes on sunday so couldn’t have been from the morning). Breakfast is like in any other 3 star hotel. Chain hotels like Radisson and Scandic will easily have better breakfast
Nice scenery and the estate + Manor where beutiful.

FinlandReserving a spa time even when you are a hotel guest is a bit annoying. Would be better if you could come and go from the pool facilities as much as you want.
Clean with an attentive staff. Breakfast was good and the hotel grounds are beautiful to walk around. Spa area was also great!

LatviaSpa was overcrowded. Far from being a romantic getaway. Limiting the number of people that can book a certain time is needed. For example, sitting in a bubble bath while uncomfortably touch stranger's foot is not nice. All the spa options were crammed. The breakfast was ok. Charging 3.5EUR for slippers seemed amusing especially given the room price. I've stayed in many hotels like this and this was the first where I had to pay for slippers in my room. Lastly, check in could be done faster if guests would receive an online form to fill in guest information instead of having to write it all on a piece of paper.
The staff was very professional and pleasant. We were lucky with sunshine in the morning which made the start of the day very pleasant. Moreover, having a walk in the territory was very enjoyable thanks to the sunshine.
