The shower water splashed out and flew out of the bathroom easily. But that wasn't a big problem.

The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. We also like the cool antique lift which we had only seen in movies before this (but you do need to be more attentive in operating it). A pleasant and comfortable stay. The staff were helpful even though they weren't visible. There had been a concern that we might get locked out in winter nights if we returned late. This proved to be ungrounded as the staff seemed to standby all time to assist us and it was us who mixed up the two codes.

We had a short but great stay in Bastian Great location with good restaurants nearby. Neat rooms with a good breakfast spread.Our friends had luggage that exceeded storage space provided but the staff was very helpful to accommodate the extra pieces

No reception which is definitely a plus. Warm room, great tee and coffee inside, kettle is also available. Location is convenient if you need to stay in the city centre.

Nothing much really except probably the elevator in the building that's a little too small, not that much of a problem really!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Bastian - the location was close to the central railway station and all the major malls, room was cosy and cleaned daily, breakfast options were great and very filling and delicious! Best of all, the owner was very prompt in his communication with us, which we totally appreciated!

Excellent hotel located on the fourth floor of the building, so the entrance is shared. Very clean, everything you might expect from the hotel is in the room. I quite liked them having a small ipad with all the basic tourist and hotel information. And the location was absolutely fantastic! Close to main attractions, train station, nice restaurants and shopping centers

It is a no staff hotel and it is not necessarily a bad thing. But, at first it felt a bit strange to get the PIN to enter to the hotel and there was noone to greet you. They placed a tablet in the room which gives you basic info you could normally ask to a reception.

Very good breakfast. Very nice decoration of quality. Very clean & quite. Just around the corner from a beer house which seems to be the only bar open until 2 am within week days. It is a no staff hotel but they get back to the messages/ questions immediately.

Could not cool the room for sleep.

Lovely room in a perfect location. The door into the 4th floor hotel is next to a black iron gate. This can be confusing. The breakfast was good and the breakfast room was clean and sleek. The room is well appointed and comfortable. The only issue was no control over heat. Too warm.

No water in the room and the water of the shower was going everywhere. The entrance of the building needs renovation.

The location was perfect. The bed was very comfortable. It was clean and with good soundproof. Although there is no reception we contacted the owner via sms and he was very keen to help us.

Everything was perfect!

Being in the centre of Helsinki close to shops, restaurants, cafes and public transportation was a real bonus especially for the short stay we had. Given the location, the rooms are well insulated from any city noise. The quality finish throughout the hotel was exceptional and the decor in our room very tastefully done 👍 Really clean room with a very comfortable large bed. We felt safe with the access systems in place and enjoyed the inroom tablet setup with useful information. Really enjoyed the mini hotel concept. Total of 5 rooms sharing a meals area with a great variety of breakfasts included in the price and we were even allowed to leave our bags in secured cabinets until 7pm on the day we checked out. Really well thought out! Ari was responsive and very helpful and the cleaning staff looked happy and were very polite. Loved this place and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Helsinki.

The bathroom was a bit small with no fan and no door on the shower means water goes everywhere so you have to squeegee it afterwards.

The room was really clean and even though there's no reception we had the easiest check in. Customer service was great, Ari was very accommodating and quick to respond. Location seems to be right in the middle of town with a fairly easy walk to the museum and other attractions. Breakfast was a decent continental, very convenient.
