How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Sauna and pool were closed, activities offered on website were not available due to low season. It's true that we payed a cheap room but I would have liked to get noticed of the lack of the announced services.
The location as it's close to Saimaa lake, running trails, SUP board and boat activities... The stuff is really kind

It's a bit old and it requires renovation (actually when we went the pool was closed due to maintenance). The breakfast doesn't offer much choice but it's quite ok.
Excellent location and super nice staff who upgraded our room (free of charge and without asking!) The family room is very spacious and in the bathroom there are toiletries available.

Hotel is quite old, room not so big and little bitter dirty. But compared price I can accept some small flaw.
Location is best just beside saima Lake, around hotel there have so many berries and mushrooms. It is very quite and beautiful place to living. Even Hotel is very old but swimming pool and sauna was great and enough for my family. Breakfast was great and enjoyed.

Our room was quite hot and impossible to ventilate in a decent way.
The location between the lakes was wonderful and the access from the swimming area to the lake very comfortable. As it was summertime, the restaurant was open until 22:00 which was very much appreciated.

The rooms are a bit old and the doors need some work atleast. Nothing else to complain
The location is perfect to explore the Saimaa region. Many spots between an hour's drive. The chef went an extra mile to get us vegetarian dinner on the day we arrived. The staff was also very helpful. Pool and sauna was also good

Doors and walls are thick, and you can hear your neighbors. The swimming pool is more for kids. Few options for the spa. Limited menu.
The location is fantastic! Wonderful nature and a lot of options to walk around. Comfortable and spacious rooms.

Acceptable option for one night on the way from Northern Finland to Helsinki. Nicely located next to the lake. Free parking. Friendly staff

The place was quite dirty. There was a trash bin right outside the side door that was overflowing, the carpets inside looked dirty and the bathrooms had black dots all over the shower. The whole place looked quite run-down and definitely not worth the hefty price tag
The nature around was amazing and in a very peaceful environment. The staff was very friendly. The food in the restaurant was rather good.

Breakfast could be more varied. If you come too late some food you can miss.
The location was so good with a forest and lake around. There are paths you can walk in the forest with very nice small bridges. From almost every room you can see the lake.

It’s not a 4 star hotel. Our room was super old, the bathroom also old.The main hall was dirty. The food they served in the restaurant is good. Swimming pool and sauna also nice.

AC didn't work, and rooms were dated.
Nice and modern sauna and shower area. Good sized pool. Sparkling wine at breakfast was a nice surprise.

Expected more from the daily room clean which sometimes seemed careless / lazy The Booking.com photos were misleading on the gym - which wasn't there - but apparently there will be an operational gym by the end of summer 2023
We stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed it. Beautiful location and views in all directions. Really friendly and helpful reception staff Really appreciated the strong blackout curtains in midsummer! Good breakfast spread. Drinks were coffee, tea, juice. Hot buffet options were porridge + egg + bacon + frankfurter sausages. Cold spread included hams, cheese, veg + fruit. Surprisingly high quality lunch and dinner restaurant food in my opinion, and seems fairly good value for Finland. Great swimming pool Great value paddle board rental at 5 euros / hour Free ice-creams at reception were a lovely touch! Good base for visiting Savonlinna 23km away. Thanks for blessing our holiday!!!

The hotel has improved compared to pre-Covid time. A lot of renovation work has been done. The room we stayed in last time, has been completely renovated (including bathroom). At the reception we were told that the hotel has now a variety of different room types, so next time we will try out something different. Hotel SPA has a lovely view to the beach and onto the pier. Sauna and relax areas have been refreshed. We were told that in the summer you can rent a boat or try out SUP board on the lake, so we'll definitely come back when it's warmer.
