Nothing in particular. Only comment is that it had only one toilet and shower. It was ok for us because we were only 4 but might get difficult with more.

The view to the lake is spectacular, the area very quiet. It has a traditional bbq and smoke sauna.

Just after booking we received a message that the bed linen cost 10euro/pp extra and cleaning the cabin 100 euro. We paid for the linen but did the cleaning ourselves.

We stayed in a cabin which was very well equiped and super clean. It was warm and located next to a beautiful lake. It makes for a good base for Koli park and the lakes.

Great house by the lake. The yard is actually a lot nicer than in the photos. We really enjoyed the sauna just by a small beach. Awesome stay and we will be back for sure.

The view to the lake from the cabin was incredible. Most windows were facing west allowing a nice sun set view on the lake Pielinen.

We followed the indication "Janisvaara", but it was wrong. It would be better when the indication was "cottages Janisvaara".

It was a wonderful place, with all facilities. The full nature. The chalet was difficult to find, but we were lucky to meet the owner: she told us kindly how to reach the chalet. However, we had a very good stay.

We liked everything about this place but there are a few things that could be improved that would make for an even better stay. Starting with blinds in the room with the bunk beds. These were missing and we had to hang bed sheets to be able to darken the room. Something to consider for bigger groups staying here (there are beds for up to 8 people) is that there is only 1 toilet and 1 shower. We were traveling as a family of 4, so it was not an issue for us, but I can imagine it can get uncomfortable with a bigger group. We considered that more detailed instructions were missing for example on how to operate the electric sauna as well as the wooden one. For Finns those things are basic life skills but for other nationalities not so much. We would have also wanted to have more detailed instructions on the location of the bins, the trash that could/should be sorted, etc. Something else that should be considered is that bed sheets and towels cost extra (10€ per person per stay) - you can also choose to bring your own. And the final cleaning of the cottage, sauna, and grill area are responsibility of the guest. This is common practice in this kind of accomodation in Finland. Just something to be aware of for those who are used to hotel-like services. You have the option of not cleaning the place but then you must pay 100€ cleaning fee for the cottage and 50€ for the grill area if left untidy. There's everything you need to make the cleaning easy. Again, all these things are just good to know since not everything is clear when making the booking and it's always best to come prepared. We can recommend this place to anyone planning on visiting the area.

The view, the wooden sauna, the grill area, and the surrounding area. Koli National Park is a beautiful place to visit but for me, the view from the cottage was even better than the ones from the famous viewpoints in Koli. You have an inmense piece of land for yourself with direct access to a clean, clear, and calm Finnish lake. The real Finnish experience doesn't get any better than this. I hope I can come back to this place in the future. I can highly recommend this place to anyone planning to visit this part of Finland.

We often go to Finland and there is something to compare with. This cottage and its location was the very best option. Our score is 10 points! The cottage has absolutely all. Gorgeous fireplace, cosy bedrooms, excellent WiFi. The most important is a million-dollar view from the windows (sunrises and sunsets over the huge lake Pielinen). Nature is fabulous. And if you add the presence of Koli mountain in the neighborhood with lifts and walking paths and a free funicular, a butterfly museum in Yonsuu, a museum of stones, as well as a museum of heroes of the book and the film "For the Matches" in Liperi, then this will be the most unforgettable vacation in Finland! A barbecue area, a sauna in the house, a wood bath on the lakeside, a magnificent beach and a boat of its own. The owners are very nice friendly people.

Ah, nothing that we can complain.

The place was worth every penny paid. It was away from the regular places of koli and had its own private beach, beach sauna, another house sauna, rowing boat , beach side BBQ , and all this included in price of room. No extra hidden cost. Also the house is very well equipped with minute details addressed. You really don’t need to go to koli village to get anything. Me and wife would highly recommend this place for around 6-8 people family. You need company to really enjoy the place.
