Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenThe room was a bit small and looked really old. The pics on booking.com did not really give out these details. I felt it was not good value for the money as it costs good money. One could stay in Helsinki city center for this price. The rooms are not soundproof as well. Since we are childhood friends meeting after a long time, we were just talking until late night when someone from adjacent room banged on the wall to let us know he can hear us that late in the night.
The breakfast was good and have good time for that. The swimming pool and sauna are available at no extra cost which is really nice. The location was really calm with no rush and everything available nearby like a supermarket, coffee shop and bus/tram accessibility.

Friendly staff. Nice bar. Good location, 8 min walk to Käpylä station then 6 min by train to Helsinki station. Shops close by (1 opposite larger 4 min walk). You can take also tram 1 to the city center 30 min or Eira area 35 min (great for outdoor activities)

Costa Rica..I just will have hoped to be able to enjoy the sauna and pool but guess they were closed because of winter or Corona not sure. That would have made a huge difference in the fairness for the price. And that's one of the reasons I went to that hotel
The rooms are big and comfortable, beds are soft. Breakfast is big and has various options of everything.

BrazilPhotos are misleading at best - the place is quite a bit run down, to say the least, and being a photographer myself, I was wary of some tricks in the hotel's pictures that are common when disguising age in real estate (confirmed on location). Lighting is actually weak, furniture and apparel have seen better times, breakfast was underwhelming, but the real blunder was: the building's layout is terrible. No, seriously! The elevator only provides for one side of the hotel. The connecting corridor between the building's alleys doubles as a makeshift conference room, and if there's an event or meeting happening there, they simply lock the corridor. Meaning, you have to take the elevator back down, then go down a small stair flight, and up the stairs on the other side. If you're carrying heavy luggage, late in a cold night, too bad for you. At least the staff helps you carry the luggage up the narrow stairway. Speaking of stairs btw: the architect who projected the building had some fixation for them: everything has stairs on it: the restaurant, the pool, and even the two-ambience lobby - if you're changing ambience, there's a stair flight for you. But you'll probably only notice if you're dead tired. To finish it off, as I said in the "pros": the hotel is at the END of a tram line - a very long one, takes a while to get there (no idea how long, I was too tired to check). Considering all of that, the hotel was quite overpriced, even more expensive than some good places downtown. Really disappointing.
Rooms are decently clean, staff does make an effort to make you welcome, it's located right next to the end point of tram line (#1, I guess). I'm really struggling to find something else (I didn't use pool, nor wifi).

Czech RepublicArrived late (after check-in time) and had problems with getting in. Because we notified hotel in advantage about our late arrival, they kindly sent all of us instructions (and login information) for mobile keys to open outer door (as well as our rooms). Unfortunately no-one mentioned that mobile keys, to gain afterhours entrance to hotel itself, work only on small side door (not main entrance), neither was this information written on main entrance door and no-one was picking up the phone. We eventually got in only thanks to postman(?) who passed us and showed us the side entrance. Sadly that wasn't still all - my mobile key worked fine and I got into my room without any further problems, but my other colleagues had problems getting into their rooms [one colleague mobile application showed 2 keys, which sadly didn't function, and other colleague mobile application showed 0 keys - they eventually got into their rooms but only after colleague with 0 keys tested if he could log in into his application with other colleague password and this way gained access to 2 keys (2 rooms) which from his mobile luckily functioned]. In the morning, my colleagues received (after asking) from reception-desk keycards for their rooms. There was also some mixup with our names and hence assigned rooms, but staff very kindly solved/corrected these issues. All in all, after solving the above mentioned issues, the stay itself (hotel, rooms, staff, etc) was great!
Very comfortable bed (soft but not too soft), clean rooms and good breakfast (also gluten-free options). Helpful staff. City center: easily reachable by public transportation (bus and tram stops within few minutes from hotel). From/to airport: train stop (with connection to airport) ~15mins walking distance or 1-2 stops with bus.

Brazil1- The room access could be easier with only the room card (that I got at the end of the check-in), instead of downloading an app, make a registration and stuff like that. 2- The hotel is like an old style. Room is like from the end of 80's or 90's, same as the bathroom. 3- The bedspread had some dust, but nothing bad. What I just didn't like about cleanness was the ventilation system. Apparently, in the exhaust fan there was some type of fungus or so. It was really dirty and I could see from there. I would strongly recommend some professional cleaning in the ventilation system.
1- The staff was very friendly and helpful. 2- The restaurant was quite good and spacious, with big windows facing the street. The food was fair. 3- There was a swimming pool and sauna (I didn't try, but I went there to have a look).
