How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Hairdryer. I should have taken my own this time. This hotel used to have very good ones before. Almost every time I have been ignored by the coffee service at the breakfast. They should have installed a coffee machine and a hot water thermos, if their personnel is not able to timely follow where to bring coffee pot.
This time I was provided with a quiet room as requested.

Was quite disappointed with the hotel when I checked in. Seemed in one isolated orner of town and a bit dingy and not well lit and a rather cold reception while Checking in. Honestly the attentive and warm welcoming attitude of Heidi , turned around my impression completely. Had an excellent 3 course Lapland fell menu well served by an enthusiastic Jertta who made this meal a memorable experience. Kudos to the staff at the restaurant for being so customer centric - would definitely like to stay here again on my next trip.

Very good breakfast, a little bit too crowded during the weekend. Close to everything. Room with sauna was very nice with a nice view. We ate dinner at the restaurant and it was fantastic. Really recommend!

The rooms were comfortable and clean. The decor was very local and original. Including all of the lit candles. Very nice. And the breakfast buffet was outstanding with a big spread and many local delicacies. I will stay at Lapland again.

Nice and cosy room< modern bathroom. Excellent breakfast, very good choice of quality local produts. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was also good. Everybody was very helpful and friendly

Very clean, great view, decent sauna in the room and very big comfortable bed. I have rarely been living in such luxury in my old hometown. The breakfast is the best ever.

Sauna section is divided to ladies and gentlemen so you can't do sauna as a a couple. Rooms don't have mini bars or fridges.
The breakfast was rich and excellent. We also tried the menu - A bit expensive, but a great place to try Scandinavian delicacies! The room was very comfortable, modern, and quiet. Service was very friendly and welcoming. Hotel is within a walking distance from the railway station and the city center, so location was very convenient for us because we were traveling by train. Still a peaceful place and you can have a walk in Ainola park which starts right from the doorstep.. Overall, we had a lovely stay and can warmly recommend the place.

- Calm and relaxing Nordic atmosphere in the mesmerising sounds of Sami music <3 - Wonderful staff, very helpful and friendly (special thanks to Tiia and Emmanuel for their warm welcome! :) ) - Beautifully decorated rooms (with very comfortable beds) and lobby - Delicious food in restaurant Oula and excellent variety/ quality of breakfast - Perfect location, close to the city centre, in a quiet neighbourhood and next to the beautiful Ainola/Hupisaari parks

Pricey bar!
Beautiful hotel room! Fantastic breakfast and wide range of choice. If you're feeling activity, I highly recommend hiring bikes from reception. A great way to explore Oulu

A bit of à walk from train station, buses stop in front of the hotel but apparently don’t go there. No suitcase stand in room.
Lots of style, very nice staff, very comfortable bed. Convenient to center of town (shopping/pedestrian zone). Good restaurant with Lapland specialties.
