The hotel is a charming old manor house. It doesn't offer luxury or all modern facilities, and could do with some updating, but is a lovely setting for a quiet, peaceful getaway. Breakfast is plentiful, and taken on the veranda, overlooking the green gardens, offers a great relaxing start to one's day!

Hotel is very beautiful and historical. A location is perfect - close to highway and by a beautiful river.

Unfortunately the hotel didn't do an evening meal and the immediate area didn't have good restaurants.

The rooms were beautifully decorated and stylish. The hotel was an old building of character with lots of nooks and crannies. The grounds were large and I could imagine children would have a great time running around. The river ran right next to the grounds and there was a charming little park nearby.

Location and surrounding is excellent as are the staff. We arrived late but staff still their to check us in. Breakfast was great and the meal at the wedding was super. Very relaxing stay and well looked after

The room needed some updating, there were some stains on the walls and the bathroom is not at the level of this sort of a hotel. The breakfast would have been nice with some background music.

Beautiful building and lovely surroundings. You can feel the history here and the staff was very friendly. Our room was nice and large. The breakfast was good.

The bathroom was very dated and just not at the level of a place such as this. I would have expected something a bit better. The walls of the room had some stains on them (coffee?).

We enjoyed the beautifully decorated room on the 2nd floor of the main building. The room was quiet so we and our two dogs had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was good with more or less standard selection of offerings one can expect in a Finnish hotel. The location was great for walks with the dogs by the river.

I didn't get the room at 3pm. Staff seems like unskilled, stressed and we had many problems during the stay.

The location was great! The yard and the river were beautiful. I liked that the hotel's dogs came to meet me. Room size and style was great and had beautiful view from the window.

We celebrated our wedding in Karhulan Hovi and it was awesome. We had around 40 guests outside in the garden and had a sit down dinner which got lots of compliments. Our ceremony was at the dock right next to the river. Everything went very well and all our guests were super happy with the place. Special thanks to Mimma who helped us to figure out how it's gonna go and look, she was calm and made us feel confident on our wedding plans. We had 8 guests from Ireland also and they absolutely loved the place. Awesome piece of history.

The historical building and surroundings were idyllic. The staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast even better than I expected. The room was spacious and from the windows you could see the garden and the river. Everything was perfect.

The rooms in the main building were booked so had to stay in the guest house, which is in need of renovation. The fridge didn’t work, there was no fan, and the room hadn’t been cleaned properly. Not worth the price.

The rooms look outdated, with old furniture and with very few amenities (there was no air conditioning, just a small fan, a small tv in our room but not in the room of our relatives, no iron and no minibar). The bathroom was not super clean and there wasn’t any toiletries (only two samples of shampoo and conditioner but no body gel and no hand soap). The breakfast buffet was ok, but could have been better. It would have been nice to have breakfast at the terrace since the weather was nice, but the area is small and there is space just for two tables.

The building looks nice but, in my mind, it needs an urgent renovation! The surroundings are beautiful, green and peaceful. I see a lot of potential in the building and it could be a really nice hotel if someone knew how to manage it.
