Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Small but cost and cute self-check in hotel in central Helsinki. Ideal for a single traveler, especially if you intend to spend most time outside. The bed was very comfortable, the toilet functional and all was in spot condition. I can recommend this hotel!

SwedenWe stayed in room 330. It’s really at the entrance door to the floor which banged super loud every time ppl came to the floor. If you have sensitive sleep- you will not be able to sleep or will wake up every time from this noise. Fridge didn’t work… Room was quite small comparing to my last stay (I apparently got the better and bigger room when I first time stayed in September ), TV was placed really inconvenient - so if you are tall it will hit you same as it did for us
Location is really perfect! Super close to everything in the city center and also a quiet neighborhood, at least the windows of the room are facing the inner yard. Also there is a kettle and tea/coffee in every room and few paper glasses, which really helps to start the morning in the good mood!

United StatesMy main quibble is that the check-in time of 4 p.m. is a bit late.
This hotel is a good economy option. The hotel is kept really clean. The rooms are small, but the space is used effectively and they are bright, so you don’t feel cramped. The hotel is centrally located with plenty of food/coffee/grocery store options nearby.

United StatesI didn't understand the room thermostat and my first room was 15C and my second was 22C. I never figured out how to change it.
I've never seen an economy hotel like this, so I'm basing my ratings on my experience here and at a competitor on Tallinn. I really enjoyed the quality and value for money.

United KingdomNothing stands out as a thing we didn't like. The facilities and amenities were all perfectly fine and as expected. The bathroom was an all-in-one style with a tile floor shared between the shower and the toilet/sink area, so that could be inconvenient for those who want to leave stuff in there other than small toiletries. However, it was a totally usable space for two people in our case.
We (wife and I) were in the city for an engagement of mine at the University of Helsinki. We got in very early in the morning (~2am) and found the hotel easy to get to from the airport regardless of that. The staff-free check-in/out was also great on this front. The location was pretty centrally located, so it was easy for me to walk to the university each day and for my wife to do ample sightseeing. There were also a variety of eateries nearby, and a nice convenience store right across the street. The room was small and somewhat oddly shaped, but we knew that would be the case going in and were totally happy with the space. The value for money the hotel offered means that would gladly stay here again if we returned for another short trip to Helsinki.

FinlandThe shower drain was clogged. After having a shower water was everywhere in the bathroom it looked like a flood. The parts of the mattress that weren't covered by the sheet were full of someone's hair and dust.
It was the second time when I stayed at Omena Hotel. This time wasn't as good as before. Anyway, It was acceptable for one night because of its good location and the cheap price.

New ZealandAs it is completely self-service there is no luggage storage but it is clearly mentioned at the time of booking. Additionally, we wanted to check in one hour early and having a staff there to ask if it was possible would have been helpful
