Lovely cottages on the lakeshore. The room is quite spacious, and the indoor temperature is pleasant. The breakfast is decent, with various options to choose from, including gluten-free and lactose-free. There's also an opportunity to visit the sauna.

When we arrived, the room was quite cold and we had to turn on the electric heater in the room for sometime.

Beds were comfortable. Our window was facing the north and the frozen lake and we saw the northern lights from the window without going outside in cold.

Breakfast was modest and a lil bit of a disappointment. There was not product signs at all, so you could only guess, what each product was. No warm vegetables. Also there was only sliced red meat? No sliced chicken or turkey? I'm not sure because I can't eat red meat and i couldn't try those sliced cold meats. My partner tasted the one thing I thought was chicken/turkey, but it was actually pork. So missing product signs was a big minus.

The bed. We slept so very well! Also it was nice, that you could change the room temperature by yourself. Minibar was good too and very useful for us. Carelian pie was good, thubs up for that. If you don't count the breakfast thing, we were happy!

The restaurant closed at 10pm and so there was no where to go if in a group except go back to the rooms. we wanted to play games one night but had to wrap the game up early as the restaurant/bar was shutting. The breakfast menu was poor.

I like the location and the ambiance of the hotel. Basic rooms, but as a ski-in hotel it provides easy access to both the slopes and cross-country tracks. The hotel's restaurant is a good one with a real live fireplace boosting a cozy feel.

Beautiful hotel right by the lake. Great views from the restaurant/breakfast room. Nice fireplace that gives a great ambiance to the room. Electric Sauna was good too. The rooms are equipped with an electrical clothes dryer which is very thoughtful and was already useful in the fall, so I can only imagine how useful it will be in winter! The location is great as well, just a short walk from Ruka village.

The smell of pizza was hanging almost everywhere in the hotel. Probably somehow comes from the hotel kitchen. Even though the smell is sort of nice, it can be annoying in the long run. Luckily at least the insides of my room was without the smell. :)

Good location right next to the Talvijärvi lake for relaxing summertime sauna+swimming combo. In the wintertime immediate access to both alpine skiing lifts and cross-country skiing trails. Ample and free parking space. Good location to spot the aurora borealis on a clear night. You can reach the Ruka Village by a short walk from the hotel. Nice electric sauna department and also a wood-burning sauna available separately. Breakfast was good with the typical Finnish choices available (porridge, bread, fruits, cereal, tea, coffee, etc). A burning fireplace gave the breakfast a really beautiful and warm ambiance on an otherwise rainy and gloomy autumn morning. The host of the hotel kindly allowed me to charge my electric hybrid from the wall socket outside the hotel.

Restaurant wasn’t open, which was a pitty as it seemed very nice. Also the breakfast wasn’t quite as good as expected, but it was still very okay. Probably just due to our visit off season.

We booked one night at Hotel Rukatonttu. Despite the positive note for self check-in and cleaning, we were assigned a room that did not match the images on Booking at reservation time. We had chosen a room because of the presence of a hot tub and we ended up with a simple shower. After pointing out the mistake, we were dismissed in a bad way by the owner that, rather than reaching a solution with us, limited himself to say he couldn't do anything since the problem was not of the structure but Booking's. So we had to pay the price for a room we didn’t have. I don't think it's a correct behavior by the owner since it was not our fault and I am sorry to write this negative review because shouldn't happen things like this. So, if you want to book here, be very careful and make sure that the room you are booking for is exactly the one assigned to you

Didnt have UNO, no toaster for bread at breakfast. We had 2 twinbeds together rather than a double.

Staff was super friendly, especially Laura who gave us recommendations for sights and restaurants and also wine and food in the restaurant. Due to our slightly complicated booming setup, 3 different bookings over a week, we thought we were gonna have to move around, but the blond guy in receptions sorted us out so we had 1 room for the whole time. Food in restaurant was excellent, especially the peppered reindeer steak. The Sauna was fantastic as well, and a proper ice pool to dip in! Crazy good Showers.
