Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TaiwanEven though the hotel is next to train station, there is no direct access to train station. Which means you need to drag all your luggage up and down stairs...
Staffs are helpful, you will have most of the help you need traveling in Helsinki from them. Breakfast is wonderful, dinning environment is tgreat. Walking in the aisle to your room is a feeling to walk in history. View from room to the plaza is very good.

FinlandNo kettle in the room. Pillows are uncomfortable. The air conditioner in our room worked strangely. There are not enough seats for breakfast for such a number of guests.
Wonderful interior! Everything is very beautiful! Tasty breakfast! There are rooms with a bath. Great location!

Amazing place to stay. The facilities are excellent so make the most of those. The breakfast in the morning had an excellent selection, very well catered for. The location is perfect, right next to the train station with direct train to airport. As well as tram stops to get further out.

BelgiumThe standard room lacks tea and coffee facilities (and you can get decent tea only at breakfast - the lobby and the bar only have teabags), bathrobes and slippers and makeup mirror (the beautiful folding mirrors in the bathroom lack suitable light). Most of the sockets near table tops in the room were not suitable for normal plugs (only USB) so I wasn't able to charge two items at the same time. The access with anything on wheels (heavy luggage, prams, wheelchairs...) is not very clear, specially for going out. Maybe they could add some signs for directions. The Chromecast didn't function but that seems to be a common problem in other hotels, too.
The hotel is a beautifully restored historical building so absolutely worth a visit for that reason alone. The location next to the main train station (with direct access to airport for example) and bus services couldn't be more central. The room (and bathroom) was equally beautiful and large with a comfortable, very large bed, high ceiling and big windows. My 3rd floor room was on the the side of the Square and quiet despite serving bus traffic. It seems that I managed to reduce the heating of the room to my liking. One of the reception staff granted me an extra request that I appreciated very much. The brasserie is beautiful and food very good. The breakfast wasn't as tasty but it had a lot of variety and it's nice that the breakfast area is divided into several smaller and calmer sitting areas. The sauna has proper lockers for guests.

United StatesNot a problem for us but there are a few stairs for the main entrance to reception. There must be a handicap entrance somewhere as they have handicap rooms.
The hotel was so convenient that we just hopped on the train from the airport and walked off it and into the hotel. We asked for a quiet room and it was so, but the whole place seemed very well sound proofed, ie from the train and city noise. Their last renovation is very modern and tastefully done and they left lots of wonderful historic details. I loved the long hallways with a second set of historic glass doors to each room open. The best part was the breakfast. I’ve never seen such an extensive buffet and it was full of a lot of gourmet dishes to suit everyone. They have several chefs just for breakfast! It is worth staying there just for the breakfast but everything else was great too.

NetherlandsBreakfast can very busy as there are lots of rooms. Luggage storage is not secured (not enough lockers for the amount of guests), so I had to carry a laptop bag around after checkout
Really nice large hotel, spectacular corridors, nicely appointed rooms with super breakfast in the heart of Helsinki. The hotel is literally part of the train station building although no noise from the trains whatsoever (I had a room overlooking the glass roof covering the rails). Would stay again

CanadaNot a complaint on our part, but we were surprised at the length of the main corridor, as our room was situated at the far end, that may be the reason we found the room very quiet! Guests with mobility concerns may find it beneficial to request accommodations nearer to an elevator.
The hotel overall was deceptively large and conjured images of the grandeur associated with luxury hotels of years gone by. It is located next door to the train station, making it a short walk with our suitcases, even in winter weather. The room was very comfortable, with classic Scandinavian decor, dual duvets on the king-size bed, and a faux fur throw. The bathroom was well outfitted, and the overhead rain shower had a decent amount of water pressure. Our room was on the 4th floor; therefore, we had half-circle windows that could be opened, offering a nice view of the square. The breakfast area was very large, offering a good selection of options.

The hotel was very nice and cozy. The rooms were clean and it was easy to get to and from the airport (we just took the train and the hotel was a short walk). Wifi worked well. I was also quite impressed with the breakfast buffet - there was a huge variety and everything was very good.

I chose the hotel because of the location & I‘d already heard of the great breakfast. I also chose by a recommendation in an Australian newspaper travel section. The bar service was excellent & friendly with a lovely atmosphere. The hotel was also Quiet & relaxed.
