Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaCold room, the internet didn't work. The receptionist explained that this happens often in this hotel to the certain models of the smartphones. Is Samsung Galaxy A something so immensely out of date for the providers? And why didn't I have such troubles in the other hotels in this January? If the managers know about this problem, why they do nothing to correct the situation? It's not a 4* hotel if they don't provide the normal Internet connection.
Clean, good breakfast, friendly personnel, great location near the city center.

AustraliaLike others said the bathrooms are run down but they still function.
The location was good, close to central train station & the Christmas markets. The room was a good size. Room around the bed to move around & a small open wardrobe space for your luggage. Breakfast buffet was good.

NorwayThe bathroom was tiny! Maybe I should say super narrow. If you showered and closed the shower curtain you had to coordinate either not touching the wall or getting shower curtain stuck to your body. I find that irksome in a semi public space. Room floor was also gritty. Strange smell came from shower drain so I was good at keeping the door shut to stop smell permeating room.
Breakfast was amazing with so many (vegan and gluten free) options, sauna was clean and well maintained (even if there is no snow or icy lake nearby). Room was large and bed was very comfortable. There were coat hangers and place to put things in entrance to not drag street dirt into rest of room.

South AfricaThe bathroom. The shower felt large in comparison with the bathroom. I also wanted to open the windows for some fresh air, but could not figure out whether it is at all possible.
For the price we paid, I liked everything, even our very small bathroom (and I mean very small) and lift. The lift was big enough for me and my son and our luggage. Sweet. All was tidy and clean. It took us a while to figure out the tablet cum telephone and had a laugh about it. Also how to operate the lift. There is place to charge your phone, a kettle with coffee, tea etc. The TV had a few channels I could understand. The breakfast was very good. I can't remember when last I had rice pudding with cinnamon and sugar! The location is very good. Walking distance to the main station, the metro is across the street as well as the tram- and bus stops. Underground supermarket and coffee shops etc. Also 2 second hand shops! One just next to the entrance to the hotel and another one near the supermarket. The rooms are not 100% soundproof, but they do have quite time, so that helps a lot. You can change the room temp to suit your needs. There is also a luggage storage room you can use as well as a microwave. Something small to eat, coffee, fruit and cool drinks are also on sale. They do have a sauna on specific times. Can't say anything about it, we did not make use of the facility. All and all, it was a super stay.

United KingdomWe ordered 3 take out breakfasts one morning as we had to leave hotel 5am for a flight, confirmed night before, in the morning sign on the desk saying no one here back soon. We didn't get any food. When we complained staff just blamed each other and said what do you want me to do about it. Not an apology just blame.
Very convenient for the train station, local attractions. Room was a decent size for 3 adults. Allowed us early check-in and also bag storage checking out.

GermanyThe amenities seem a bit rundown. The sauna can be used only very short hours during the day.
We only stayed at the Scandic Kaisaniemi for one night due to a stopover. The hotel is centrally located and it only takes a few minutes to walk to the train station, which was very convenient for us. The breakfast offered various choices and was really delicious.

DenmarkSauna closes at 21.30, so I just missed it. One more hour would have been the last dot on the I.
I checked in late and had to leave early, all caused by a delayed flight. I was told that I could have a "cold breakfast" half an hour early - which turned out to be the whole buffet, cold, hot, with sea buckthorn juice, chia-porridge, oat milk for my coffee, and a whole gluten-free section. Amazing, delicious surprise and great service.

SingaporeFor breakfast, it would be great if they can refill the milk if finished. For staff, it would be great if the staff could have more interaction with their customer , for example staff work at reception shall have simple greeting and welcome whenever customer walk in the hotel instead of ignore them. During the stay, I found out it is more on self service counter instead of a reception counter. Simple words “how may I help you?” shows a good start to welcome your customer. This is because customer will feel awkward and not a good impression to your hotel. For facilities, kindly double check the room before it is ready to customer. The footstep of the dustbin in my toilet room is broken and left only the steel. It is very dangerous to step on it.
Breakfast is good, more selection and delicious. Nice street view while having breakfast. Staff is very understandable and allow us to store our luggage in their storage room.

United StatesOnly small annoyance was the shower situation, as the shower water poured out across the entire bathroom floor when showering, causing it to be wet & slippery. We presumed not enclosing the shower & using a squeegee to mop up water into the drain after showering is a Finnish custom, so we adapted. But it was somewhat of a hazzard for my elderly mother and inconvenient to not be able to have anything on the floor. More shelving in the bathroom to put our toiletries on would be helpful as well.
Staff was second to none! Inka at the front desk, in particular, was outstanding with her communication, patience and friendliness. Breakfast was impressive every day we were there. Location could not have been better.
