Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaHotel is a little dated. Also 'in suite sauna' did not have a handrail and could be very dangerous.
Beautiful remote lakefront location, with walking trails, bikes available. Breakfast good with gluten/lactose free options. Had some amenities challenges initially, but Mia, Front Desk Manager handled the situation professionally. Must have car to travel to this location. Parking included. 10 minute drive to Tampere center. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. We travelled in the fall, however, there is a beach and tennis courts on the property close by.

NetherlandsThe fact that the windows cannot be opened is a no go for me to visit the hotel another time! And the airco did strange things.... In the middel of the tnight is was blowing very hard en cold air all of a sudden etc. The hotel bar closed too early.
The location is perfect with the lake on a 3 minutes walk through green area. 10 minutes away from Tampere by bicycle. Nice breakfast, with even porrage with extra ingredients for me. Breakfast till 11 and checkout only at 12 is super! Great friendly staff.

FinlandConsidering the age of the hotel there wasn’t much not to like. The decor could be updated but it didn’t really make difference to me
Location! Also, though the hotel is old the room was still in good shape. Especially points for the good bed. I requested a quiet room which was also delivered. There is also free parking!

Singaporerooms felt dated - like they were fittings from the 90s and had not been updated since. while not a total downside, if would have been nice to have a more thoughtfully laid out bathroom and more modern plugs with usb charging for the price
amazingly scenic location and good walk to city centre; wonderfully quiet at night and restful

RussiaI did not like the design of the hotel and the room - it was somehow cold, uncomfortable. Surprised by the lack of slippers in a room in a 4 star hotel. In terms of value for money, I think the price of 115 euros per night is too high (for 1 person). In my opinion, the price should have been around 85 euros.
In general, I liked everything. I liked the location, the area where the hotel was located. The breakfast was good, but not "wow".

United KingdomThere was only one bike available for use. The other one being under repair. Which means only two rental bikes in total? The main reason I booked the hotel was for the bikes, so this was quite a disappointment for my partner and I.
The Scandic is a reasonable hotel. It's location is very beautiful, but it is a fair walk from the town centre of Tampere. It's best to reach it by bus.

United KingdomThe only improvement would be food options at the hotel. Apart from a small shop for snacks there was no options to have lunch there, and the evening meal options were very limited so it meant that you had to go out to eat all the time. We were staying when it had just changed to winter hours, so maybe this was why but it would have been nice to have the option to have a proper lunch at the hotel. This is the only reason for marking down to a 9 instead of a 10.
There were 3 of us and we had a HUGE family room. There was a separate bedroom for the adults and 2 bathrooms which was a real bonus. The room was clean and tidy with plenty of space to spread out and for our son to play. The hotel is in a fantastic location with plenty of walking, swimming and nature options nearby. It was nice to feel like you were in the countryside, but only a short ride to the city centre if you wanted to go out. The sauna and pool area were great, and we used these every day. The staff were friendly and helpful so anytime we had questions or needed help they were great.

United KingdomThe only thing I would say was I ate a Angus burger on my first night from the restaurant, I didn't end up eating it all as I was cauious of it being abit to pink for me, and because I was competing I didn't want to take the risk, so all I would suggest is to maybe ask how the customer would like it cooked.
The breakfast I felt was brilliant, a vast variety of food to offer to start your day on the right path. I came to compete for Great Britain in the World Masters Championships, it was my first time attending, and first time in Finland, I felt very relaxed and safe. The pool looks amazing, I got to try it yesterday. I used the gym on the 2nd day and like the equipment in there, I felt it helped. I never get the chance to use a sauna back home, so I took advantage of using it at the hotel and I loved it. The most calm I've felt in a good while. The beds are really comfy. This is the first trip outside of the UK that I have taken since COVID, and it definitely won't be my last.

United KingdomA minor point but including USB charging points in the rooms would be handy for people who have forgotten a UK socket converter.
Fantastic breakfast, lots of choice and a special section for vegans and people who need gluten free options (meaning that people who don't, don't accidentally eat it). A really beautiful setting and an excellent conference venue, very well planned and with all amenities close to hand. Being part of the scooter network means not having to use taxis if you prefer not to and it's only 15 mins on a scooter from the railway station.
