How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It’s a 4 star property - with a reasonable tariff. We had a “standard” room - but were charged extra for things which IMO should have been included eg., kettle & tea making facilities.
Fantastic location - restaurants & shopping right at the door. Walk to most major tourist attractions. Easy walk to Central Station. Breakfast buffet was great. Staff were friendly helpful and approachable.

Brilliant breakfast. There were lots of vegan and gluten-free options and they were clearly labelled. Wide variety of food and beverages available. We really liked the recycling bin in the room. The bed was comfortable.

The room is very standard and nothing spectacular. I know the hotel is expensive in Finland, so I guess it’s a standard hotel.

Family of three (2 adults, 1 teenager) found the room adequate in size, nice big window overlooking a square. Very close to public transport links, places to eat, places to shop etc. Fantastic breakfast buffet with a huge amount of food and plenty of options.

Still quite expensive
Brilliant location. So close to central coach and train station! Only 10 mins walk from historical city center. Close to shopping area with all main shopping department stores. Very good breakfast!

In my first room - 708 - I could here noise from the ventilation in front of the hotel. Maybe it could be possible to write all the informations you needed when I made the reservation of the hotel from mycomputer so I didn't have to do it by pencil,
The room was fine. The breakfast was very fine. The location close to railwaystation and to the shopping center with busses and metro was excellent, and the hotel was located very close to museums and other attractions. The weather could have been better, but that is not your business.

There was an light odd smoky smell in our room and our second keycard didn’t work. The ala carte food in the restaurant was average, but a good choice for a quick dinner. There was no hair condition in the room. The lights in the room made us confused because my fiance accidentally turned all the lights on when going to a bathroom at night.
The location is best in Helsinki. Just by the corner of trainstation, multiple shopping malls, restaurants etc. The room was very clean, even cleaner than most of 4-star hotels. The breakfast had everything. Even it is a big hotel and it was a travelling season in Helsinki, the place didn’t felt too crowded. The staff was friendly.

We chose this hotel for it's proximity to the bus terminal. Early breakfast is available from 4am, which was great for us. Staff was corteous and very friendly.

Shower is placed too close to the wall, it’s impossible to normally use it. Shampoo was not filled in a bottle or the dispenser was not working properly. Bidet was broken and leaked. Hair dryer was broken. Beds were not made up neatly.
Location is perfect! Design is amazing. Having the iron in a room. Breakfast is top notch. People working at the reception are extremely helpful and nice.

dirty in the rooms, poor cleaning, dust everywhere, glasses are not washed or changed, the bed had a very bad smell, water was leaking out in the shower all the time
