Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaRestaurant was closed on Sunday. To get taxi in time is slightly difficult.
Since hotel was under renovation there was no direct connectivity from reception which give little discomfort in negative temperature. Rest all things are good. Breakfast was average.

FinlandThe hotel was under renovations. Not a problem as they stopped late afternoon, but it tells you that some parts of hotel still might need work. Every Scandic hotel seems to do this: they have a small "shop" in which they sell smaller versions of popular candy and other products, but charge even more than the bigger product sizes sold in proper stores. Why on earth hotels cannot sells normal size products and charge a bit extra. Has anyone tried this at Scandia? Would they perhaps sell more than trying to sell over priced drinks and candy based on the fact that there is no store nearby. It's great that there is a store for "emergencies" and that one does not have to go and look for a store, but seems to be a standard attitude in every Scandic with the pricing. There was a place and plug for a fridge in the room, but no fridge which in a hotel of otherwise good standards and service would have been nice.
Located with good access to town and wasaline terminal and tropiclandia. Surrounded by nature and sea. I liked how the room was spacious and renovated. The hotel also informed that Tropiclandia was closed for yearly clean and answered my question about bus connection to harbor. Plenty of space to park for free in front of the hotel and also free use of bikes. Also helmet provided. The breakfast offered many many choices.

IndiaAlso, a basic electric kettle and tea bags should be provided for a hotel at this particular price.
The breakfast was amazing, and the rooms are a bit dated but the view from the room was nice.

United StatesKeep making progress on the renovations. We are waiting to see the final product. It will be well worth it.
Scandic Waskia is big and has a lot of well-appointed guest rooms as well as updated meetings rooms. It is very comfortable. The staff is friendly. The breakfast is great. The list of outdoor activities on the grounds are numerous. The location is right next to a water park. Downtown Vaasa is close by with many restaurants. However, of all things, most of all Scandic Wasika is clean. I do mean it is actually “clean”. Not “we run the vacuum over the carpet everyday just because” clean. It is - “I take my job responsibilities quite seriously” clean. At first, it may not seem so based on first impressions at arrival being that the facilities and the décor are looking a little dated these days but upon closer inspection, one can see that the hotel has been well cared for. Do not be fooled. Moreover, it is currently undergoing a much-needed renovation. The simple fact is we enjoyed our stay here. Once the renovation is complete, this place will again be a true jewel. It deserves a visit. We will be back. In addition, the oversized Roomba-style robot gardener is very cool.

FinlandThe beds were too soft and matrasses were too "loose" and the pillows were uncomfortable. There was disturbance from the pipes - they were loud, constant sounds from the pipes were heard all night. There was no kettle in the room. The cleaning service did not support sustainability: based on the sign in the bathroom we hung towels to hooks to indicate that they should not be replaced. However, the towels were changed the next day. Also, cleaners replaced the glasses and took away the medicine that we put in one of the glass in the morning. This is the first time when we have experienced hotel staff taking away our property.
Room was spacious, decorated nicely, good breakfast, good curtains on the window.

FinlandThe room tv wasn't working (they should be checked after every visit) and instead replacing the room next door they asked us to move to another floor due the rooms were suites instead of standard ones. Didn't want really to do this after a day hiking and showers.
The location was good, quiet, close to town. The crew was ok.

NorwayLobby door is closed after midnight. The spa door on floor 4 is broken and can't be opened. The restaurant hours are way too short (18:00-20:30, IIRC). The Need for Speed Carbon arcade game was out of order (A shame, seeing its potential impact on videogame history). The bedsheets unfolded if you looked at them funny,
The chicken bocatini was the best pasta I've had in years. 95% of employees spoke Swedish, and had no problems with my Norway-affected Swedish. Access to a microwave in the lobby (albeit an old one). Decently silent rooms (Enough so to give me my first-ever full night's hotel sleep, twice). 17 TV channels. Free Wi-Fi. Breakfast buffet has Nugatti. 5min away from downtown on manual kickscooter, 10min to train station, and 25min to the Kivihaka shopping district.
