We loved the way the house was organized, the sauna, the jacuzzi bath, the closeness of the lake, the delicious Lakeside Cafe, our chats with Brian who runs the place, the wildlife and the views. We spent a week there and would have loved to stay longer, because the place was so comfortable and relaxing. It was clean and had everything we needed, had a separate entrance, was private and picturesque. The area is absolutely unique because it is a part of a very old estate with a beautiful apple orchard, with apple trees right beneath our balcony. We enjoyed drinks and tea on the balcony, watching the lake glistening behind the trees just at the edge of the gardens. There is a lot to do in the area, both walking and driving distance from the house. We took walks in the apple orchard, went out to the closest beach next to Lakeside Cafe, and also walked to a quiet beach just 15-20 minutes over the hill (called Vohloisen uimaranta on Google maps). We walked to Liessaari too (that’s a bit of a hike so some people may prefer to drive). Liessari is a stunning island with a forest, a very comfortable sandy beach, and breathtaking views and hiking trails. There are other very nice beaches nearby too, like the Pähkinäniemen Uimaranta. On one of the days we drove to the nature reserve called Karkali and walked the trails: it is a very special and remote place with a lot of interesting vegetation and views over the water. We still have a list of things we want to see in the area, so we hope to come back and stay at Brian’s again! I would recommend the house to anyone looking for a weekend or a longer stay in a beautiful quiet area on the water.
