Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The staff were absolutely amazing and the location was stunning. Even travelling with a 10 month old baby we had a wonderful and relatively relaxing time. The bathroom in the beachfront Bure was very nicely done.

Barefoot Kuata was an amazing authentic Fiji holiday experience. The island is just under 2 hours on the ferry and once there you won't regret leaving the mainland. The island provides for a hike, amazing snorkeling literally 5m from the shore you'll see tropical fish everywhere and amazing coral, there are also options to dive and snorkel with sharks. The water is like a warm bath and you can enjoy for hours on end. The amenities are relatively basic however contain everything you need, such as power, running water, comfortable restaurant, full bar and wifi. Our beachfront bure was great, so easy to relax in and straight into the golden sand. 3 fans that keep you cool during the hot days/nights. The staff are caring, very nice, respectful and the happiest people I've met. All up everything was great, Kuata is the perfect place to experience real Fiji, allow yourself to get board so you relax and if you can't sit still go for a hike, go snorkeling again, talk to locals about their culture and soak it in. If you are someone who can't live without stable wifi and require constant entertainment and require 5 star amenities then perhaps looks elsewhere and review your life choices because to miss out on this would be a thing to regret.

TaiwanThe bure area is a bit far from the restaurant area, and surrounding still under construction. should look better once it's all finished. Funny to have the outdoor shower and toilet, but also brings a lot of mosquitoes and flies.
Barefoot Kuata offers unbelievable connections to the ocean. Snorkeling with sharks, at night, but also just down the beach was incredible. Swimming with reef sharks was truly a memorable experience. We even got the chance to see a sea turtle. We were told the bull shark dive was also worth its while. Meals were buffet: good with live music. Everyday a lot of people come and go, it makes the atmosphere a bit buzzing but I guess it's just Kuata's fame being close to Denarau. The staff were adorable! Thank you Kina for helping my wife with the shark snorkeling. We had a bure with view on the ocean. It was beautiful and quite. The room offered an outside shower. Was fine for me who felt closer to the nature but less for my wife who does not like bugs. You can pay both cash and card (3.5% fees) but there is no ATM. Loved our stay

ItalyEven if the food was very good, 3 out of 5 of us felt sick during our stay… shouldn’t happen paying 140$ a day for meals. We let the staff know and didn’t do anything about it.
Very comfortable dorms with fans and huge bathroom. The food was buffet style with plenty of options. The reef in front of the beach was amazing to snorkel. Loads of room to chill close to the pools and staff was lovely.

I left my heart in this place. One of most human, intense and amazing experiences of my whole life. I miss everyone… I will be back! If you wanna visit the south part of the Yasawa island, this is the place to stay. This is not a resort, it’s your Fijian family.

AustraliaBarefoot Kuata is very charming. The Warrior stands on the rock in the ocean everyday to welcome the ferry. The reef shark snorkel was one of the best snorkels we have ever done. An absolute must. They do offer introductory dives for this. Try do the early one before the day tourists come. If you are a scuba diver then the bull shark dive is a highlight and a must. I didn’t feel unsafe at any point. The new dive shop is almost completed. The swimming pool area has the best view and its great to cool off. Every night the band plays during dinner. Its well worth staying in an ocean front room. There are in house marine biologists and shark scientists. The food is buffet style and really good. No drinks except for water is included. There is a beach bar. They are beginning to build facilities for day trippers only to separate the residents from day trippers which will be better.

AustraliaFood was kind of repetitive and we missed a bit more fruit with all the meals. The day trippers were sometimes overwhelming.

ChinaAbsolutely stunning hotel and location, located diretcly on the beach with a hiking trail behind the hotel. This hotel was like something you'd see in a movie, beautiful views, beautiful rooms, private outdoor shower, and big comfortable beds. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, really made it difficult to leave. The South Sea Cruises ferry stops right outside the hotel so it's very easy to travel to the other Yasawa Islands.
