Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThis place was good for 2/3 nites max. Don't expect big portions with meals unless it's breakfast and In Australia, your local pub has a bigger menu. The price of the daily tours are the same price as in Australia and you are pritty much stuck on a beach 200metres long unless you want to pay high prices for a small boat ride. Some staff are really nice/management were nice but would only recommend this place for couples and 3 nites max. Island hoping would be the go. As a cyclone was approaching, the staff looked after the buildings but the guest were given food that was disgusting due to them closing the kitchen and had to eat in your room with what was given. (No refund on them meals either) was disappointing. With what your thinking you will receive especially with the set menu, expect only half.
The boat trip amongst the islands to and from the resort was the high light and how the staff looked after the resort buildings whilst a cyclone was around. A nice walk up the local mountain was great for viewing and good snorkeling off the beach is great.

Germany- Most of the stuff is everytime very unfriendly, especially in the restaurant - we were ill and made a visit by the doctor, so we asked for the kids menu. It was a long discussion to get something from this menu (f.e. Pasta) and not the ONE vegetarian option from the "adult" menu. - the food ist really not as good as it looks like, the sister Resort Octopus has the same food, but it tastes way more better - dwindling beach - it's just to expensive for what you get
- good for snorkeling - nice beach - beautiful reef

United KingdomThe hotel doesn’t meet the expectations of the price you pay to stay here. Most of the activities are paid which is a bit annoying given that is already super expensive. Other hotels have free and great activities such as snorkeling and diving. Most of the free activities are not being held. The staff is not very proactive to doing the free activities. I went to do yoga class and the lady that gave the activity didn’t want to do it and put on a tired face and said she will let me know if someone else joined. Wifi broke for an entire day and they ran out of items in the food menu. Food is good but they don’t have everything in the menu. Most of the staff did not look happy, probably overworked. I don’t think I would come back to stay here.
Food was good and very nice mountain hike. Beach is lovely.

SwitzerlandSome of the people that worked in the restaurant were pretty unfriendly, unflexible and never smiled. You get your next dish right after you finished the previous one and sometimes it is even cold. Additionally we had to sit on one day at the table with the group who were sleeping in the same dorm. We didn't mind it first, because we are young travellers, but then there were some tables free like 20 minutes later and also we almost got forced to join a game which we didn't want to.
The Room was pretty nice and the whole resort is directly in front of the beautiful sea with coralls. There was a beautiful and friendly greeting and some of the restaurant workers were friendly.

AustraliaThere used to be some friendly dogs on beach playing with children and adults. All gone now, the new management does not tolerate animals.
The staff that work there are so amazing, friendly and helpful. Food was great and activities were entertaining. Rooms clean and comfortable beds.

IndonesiaThere were no places to relax in the evening. They had a couple of seats by the bar but not enough inside if it rained. In the lodges, there were tiny bugs everywhere. I know this sometimes can’t be helped but they were all in the room and in my luggage. The dorm rooms didn’t have this, only the lodge.
The staff were lovely and the lagoon was stunning. The food was a 5 course dinner every night and breakfast you could pick from the menu. Food plan is expensive but the food is good. The cave trip was so good, highly recommend. Happy hour cocktails were also lovely and great to meet other guests. The dorm had aircon which was great but the beds were so close together. Highly recommend the massage too! Very hard pressure but so good. Loved the conservation tactics they were implementing for the coral and reef.

United StatesThe value, the food, both of us got a stomach bug (the first night of the stomach bug, after not eating, staff did offer a couple packets of electrolytes and asked me how I was doing the following day). . Had to pay for water, even with being extremely dehydrated and ill. Dinners were five courses, with not a single edible course. Risotto was like paste with no taste, lamb shank was so tough you could not chew it, most of the plate was cold when served (not luke warm but cold). Runny, watery polenta.
The beautiful half moon type lagoon the resort is built on is lovely. The property is very well designed and maintained. Hot breakfast was nice. The resort had lots to do and very good for families. Nice equipment

United KingdomYou can reserve tables at the front to watch the sunset while you have your dinner, which we reserved for our last night as we didn’t get on the list any other night. Unfortunately there was a pushy man in front of us waiting to be seated who hadn’t reserved a table and said it was his last night. The hostess then proceeded to give away our reserved table, with the reserved sign on it, right in front of us even as I said that’s meant to be our table. Obviously it’s a tiny point and first world problem, but it’s very bad expectation management and kind of soured the night. My suggestion is that you either do the reservations and stick to them or don’t do them at all and make it first come first serve.
Beautiful island and setting. Food was delicious!

AustraliaVery disappointed with the unisex shared bathroom/toilet. It was very smelly and got dirty quickly after being cleaned. It shut us down every time thinking about going to use it, especially after meal time. I strongly recommend that you should build another shared bathroom facility for male or female if possible.
All meals were great. We were very happy and really enjoyed the food there especially the 5 courses meal for dinner.

AustraliaThe mandatory food plan was rather overpriced and the quality was well ... poor. Of our party of four the two who had the tuna on the first night got sick, one for a few days. Presentation was prioritized over quality and cooking, meals came out luke warm, things were either under- or over-cooked and salted. The cocktails were just bad.
Great location, amazing fish life for snorkeling straight off the beach any time of tide, our family Bure was simple and quite luxurious. Walk up the mountain is great too

Hong KongIt could do with some maintenance and the facilities and food was not good value for money - there should be more options on the menu. our garden villa was behind the restaurant/kitchen so wind/air access is not the best, and at times can smell the food being cooked.
Location. it's very remote if you're into an idyllic and simple-style holiday. there's a pool and beach lounge areas. they have the kava ceremony and also welcome & goodbye songs from the staff which is a good way of sharing their culture. free use of gear for snorkeling. staff is friendly. the room is huge and fan was strong enough.

New ZealandThere is a loose pulled up nail by the shared bathroom steps that I stood on in the dark. Wifi is patchy, but you are there to be on holiday The reefs aren't as pretty or active as other sites for snorkeling.
The food was delicious, staff so friendly and helpful. The pool is deep with plenty of lounging spaces

Australiano air conditioning, food is not exceptional, and most importantly we got stuck in the island as the boat (ferry) broke down. A solution was found at the end of the day, they chartered a mini boat at night to make us cross over and reach main island (3h ride), it was the worst day of our life, weather was terrible, water very choppy and it was night time, we literally thought we were dying that night.
nice beach

Australia3 NIGHTS IN A MOUSE INFESTED ROOM Our stay at Blue Lagoon was ruined because they provided us accomodation with a mouse infested room. Despite advising this to the resort, they did not resolve the problem or offer to move us to a different room. We ended up spending 3 sleepless nights with the family of mice. I have emailed a formal complaint and they have chosen to ignore us. Book at your own risk as this resort does not respect its patrons and will do little to ensure a positive experience once they have your money.

United KingdomNight snorkelling was very expensive. We didn't have a guide, one torch between two and had all our own equipment, so to pay $45 each was a bit steap. Ended up guiding a group of less confident swimmers ourselves. No diving was available due to limited equipment, despite calling ahead to try and book - we never got a reply. Most activities booked out in advance.
Snorkelling nearby was amazing. The reefs from the beach were unbelievable. The rooms were nice and clean. The beach was lovely.

AustraliaWe weren't told that spaces fill up on the activities. We only had two nights and missed out on signing up for the cave trip (which was the reason for going to Blue Lagoon in the first place). We were told there might be cancellations, so although we were hopeful we also unable to look forward to it until the day (when we found out they were providing an extra boat). It would be nice to have a guaranteed space, I'd there is the capacity for taking two boats to save guests missing out or having to wait until the morning to know, that would be better! We also booked a time for dinner (as is necessary) but then needed to wait until 8.30 before being seated - it all felt very disorganised and we were quite hungry by then! We were also originally shown to the wrong villa which made us miss some information about our actual room (and possibly how we missed info about the activities?)
A beautiful location, absolutely stunning beach. The village trip was amazing too (and the guide who took us was such a friendly, welcoming person!) It has the makings of being a 10/10 resort with some more thorough organisation (of activities, meal times etc)

AustraliaAt times service was a little slow, however the longer we stayed the less it bothered us as we adjusted to “island time” and unwinded. The traditional and local foods were great (e.g. fresh fruits, seafood, kokoda, curries), western food was a bit hit and miss at times (e.g. hot breakfasts, burgers), however overall food was enjoyable.
Loved the location, activities available and extremely friendly staff that just made the stay amazing. The Villas were also very clean and comfortable with lovely outdoor bathroom.

United KingdomStaff werent that friendly, especially the reception staff, made myself and another couple i knew there feel very unwanted within the reception area. Activities staff werent very welcoming and when we got there was told we couldn't hire snorkels and the tour was off because of visibility, i had been snorkling in worse, choppier sea on other islands. We were then told the morning hike was also off because of being slippery, again i hiked on another island the day before and was fine and it hadnt rained since. Spoke to a couple who did there own hike and said the ground was fine. The cave tour wasnt meant to go ahead on our only day on the island and was told it had to be a minimum of 6 people, there was only around 6 people staying in the resort! They did run it eventually with just 4 of us. When checking in one lady all she did was open my door to let me in the room, she hung around and made me feel very awkward obviously for a tip. I will tip well but if i have had something more than just opening a door. No signal on the island and terrible WiFi. Only place was round the pool and this was still very poor and far away from my lodge. Alot of sand and ants everywhere in my room even all over the bed. Could deal with the 6 lizards in my room as fairly normal for fiji. Shame after staying at some amazing resorts on other islands and had a big hype about Blue Lagoon which was a big let down. Very overpriced and overrated wouldn't come back to this resort.
The food, nice food and great choice.
