Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicMosquitoes was the main problem and the local repellent did not work, Bushman which we had from Australia was better. Take repellent with you, as the hotel does nothing against them (when we were on Maledives, they sprayed them regularly). Food, especially dinners, and drinks were very overpriced
The island is beautiful, we had Beach Front Bure just couple of steps to a sandy beach with stunning sunsets. Just the low tide is quite significant here so the corals are outside and it’s not possible to swim for couple of hours. Accommodation was comfortable, also the patio was nice to have (just the room did not have a tumble as mentioned on Booking) Staff was mostly friendly with some exception but the service was poor and very slow, waiting for a tea half an hour in the morning…we had no rush but when you wanted to go for a trip, you had to count with some time buffer because it really could take up to an hour to get everything

AustraliaThe WiFi (though offered for free) was extremely patchy and was unreliable.
Great island get away for couples. Food was generally pretty good. Water sports equipment was available and outings were on offer every day.

United KingdomNothing, my only comment would be that the food may be slightly repetitive if you stayed for weeks but such good fresh food
What’s not to like! Amazing views, incredible location and super kind staff. Snorkelling right off the beach which is incredible. Also good at catering to gluten free as I am coeliac.

ItalyWe had a very quick kayak around the island, but it was difficult to time an outing with the tides and hours the water sports station is open. Paddle boards would be a fabulous addition, especially as they can be used at low tide when the kayaks can't.
The meals on the terrace were fine. The room was comfortable, and we enjoyed the dipping pool in the heat of the day. The sea is lovely, and the snorkeling was a delight.

United KingdomThe spa service was very bad. They offered a free ten minute foot massage. I booked in for this and another 30 minute body massage. They messed up the timings and ended up combining and rushing both into 25 minutes from what should have been a 40 minute treatment. My partner was surprised when I returned to the pool so quickly. I reported it to reception immediately to demonstrate that I should have still been in the massage and they weren't very apologetic and made me feel like I was in the wrong. The spa is also quite overpriced given the quality of the facilities and I left feeling very ripped off. The food in the evenings is good but nothing special for the price and the pool lounger cushions are old and torn.
The island is absolutely amazing with the reef starting meters from the shore. It's super peaceful and beautiful, very relaxing. Nice pool. Good complimentary breakfast. Friendly bar staff. The rooms were kept exceptionally clean and were nice! The diving excursion was amazing and all dive staff very safe and friendly. The entertainment is also amazing, including a staff member chopping fresh coconuts off the tree and handing them out at the pool...sooo good!

Canada- the wait at the restaurant can be long, but it didn't really bother us unless we had a morning activity to get to right after breakfast. - for some reason there is a lot of flies at the resort but probably not in their control
The location of the resort is an absolute dream. It constantly felt like we had the beautiful white sandy beach and the turquoise water to ourselves. My partner and I stayed in the pool villa on the other side of the island and the views were to die for. The villa was beautiful and clean and the beach in front was always empty. The food was really good, especially considering that you are on a little island in the middle of the pacific. The diving and snorkelling (even of the beach) was great. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My dad got sick during our stay and the ladies at the reception even helped arrange a pick up of medication on the main island. All in all, highly recommend this resort for a couples or family vacation!

AustraliaThe diversity of food options is lacking, particularly for vegetarians. We stayed for 9 nights and were pretty tired of the food by day 6. To be clear, the quality of ingredients and taste of the food was exceptional, but lacking choice. The mirrors throughout the villa and the door glass - overlooking the ocean - were very dirty. I spent a decent amount of time cleaning the glass and it made such a difference.
The room was great. We stayed in a beach front villa and the shower was great, the bed was comfortable and the overall amenity was excellent. The island itself is gorgeous and every day was incredibly photogenic. The free use of kayaks and snorkeling gear is very handy as the surrounding waters are excellent to kayak over and the coral reef is a lot of fun to explore while snorkelling. The quality of the food is fantastic and tasted great. The staff are very talented. They seem to have a hand in everything from restaurant service, luggage handling, singing and beyond. The Matamanoa bird was a privilege to see and hear. Definitely a highlight of the island.

SingaporeThe food was greatly overpriced and could be improved. The hotel could consider offering a bigger selection of bar snacks - only food options outside of meal times were potato wedges and fries. There were many mosquitos around the property - though I don't think this was the property's fault. Could have a greater selection of free activities. We did participate in hat and basket weaving and enjoyed ourselves.
Staff members went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable stay, service was personalized. Beautiful views of the ocean from the infinity pool.

AustraliaNothing, absolutely nothing. That we had to leave. Even when it rained we loved it.
EVERYTHING! There was actually nothing to hate about the stay. The people, the location, the room, the food, the activities, everything was beyond expectations. We went for above moderate level of accommodation and we got exactly that and more. The pool was beautiful, everything was looked after exceptionally well. The food was fresh and well cooked. The staff looked after you at meal times. You always felt welcome as Fijians always make you feel. The Spa was lovely. The island was well manicured and managed. The room was cleaned daily and was a great bed to sleep in. The activities organized daily by the staff were great and varied. Beautiful place to stay. Would go back in a flash.

New ZealandOnly thing was the “doof doof” floating across from the schoolies party on Mana Island until the wee hours, so if that’s on when you visit, pack your earplugs for bedtime.
Beautiful beach front bure with a comfy day bed for lounging and reading, and a private pool. Amazing people working there (with great senses of humour!), who made us feel so welcome. Grab a kayak, or snorkelling gear, even had a hobi cat for sailing, all included. Small organised activities every day too, if you wanted (jewellery making, cooking, walks).

United KingdomThe food was very disappointing. There is one restaurant - so no choice. Breakfast was adequate in amounts but poor in quality and ingredients.. We expected plenty of beautiful fresh fruits, as we'd had on other Fijian islands, but were given small portions of cut up fruit - such a disappointment. Breakfast 'pastries' were generally heated up and stale. Dinner was the biggest let down - very little choice and I ended up eating the same type of fish every night served with very small amounts of vegetables Some of the staff at the resort were charming and cheerful, others seemed disenchanted and uninterested. Matamanoa is a beautiful island and should be a tropical paradise but is sadly being let down by some indifferent staff and particularly by the food. If it's to retain a good reputation it needs an overhaul in many departments but particularly in staff and food and beverage management.
Beautiful location. Beachfront Bures with plunge pools are lovely with great outdoor space, daybed, sunbeds, table and chairs. The water sports activities were good - quality equipment and well organised.
