Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

AustraliaThe rooms could have been slightly bigger but, since I travelled with my partner, that was not so much of an issue.
The location is hands down, beautiful. It was peaceful to look at the view from the room and the dining area as well. Each room in the hotel looks out at the backwaters or the river, and it’s beautiful to be able to witness the sunset as well. We had a really relaxing time at Novotel. The staff were very friendly, kind and hospitable. Will definitely recommend this place for those seeking some quiet solitude. Food was pretty good as well!

AustraliaThe restaurant was hit and miss with the food and most of the time the fish was overcooked. Every meal we ate took over an hour to arrive when less than half the tables had people. Some staff seemed to be doing all the work and others barely looked up from their phones or conversations with other staff. Housekeeping was barely existent, sometimes towels at 4pm, sometimes walking in while still in the room and pretending that were not there. Overall satisfactory for a short stay, maybe with more staff and/or training it could be improved.
The room had a very pretty outlook and aircon worked perfectly. The toiletries were of a high quality, the shower had great water pressure and was very relaxing. There were a good range of drinks and even delivered to the room without a surcharge. Information on arrival was good but the highlight was the spa treatments and the complimentary 10min massage by BeautyLab was fantastic!

New ZealandIt's a bit far out if you are working in town during the week so I stayed there for the weekend then moved into town on Monday morning. Always leave enough time as the traffic can get quite intense.
I was very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was a pleasure to sit, eat, have a drink, work and look at the sea and islands. The breakfast was excellent, especially on Sunday with bubbles. Dinner had good options for vegetarians. The staff were always helpful and moved me from a room looking out on the pool (and hence people) to an ocean view. Good parking.

South AfricaI was surprised by how little cupboard and drawer space there was for storing clothes in the room - certainly not enough for five days worth of clothes. The breakfasts are a bit limited and not good value for money - some small changes are needed, like providing yoghurt.
Although its a bit of drive into town, the location is very peaceful and quiet and I enjoyed being so close to the water. All the facilities such as the pool, gym, common space (lawns) are well maintained and make for a pleasant stay. Very friendly staff and good service - and coffees.
