We loved everything. But if there's one thing to improve, I'd say more fijian options for dinner (or just more options to choose from in general).

We loved absolutely everything: insanely beautiful view, very well designed 'tree-house-like' eco-friendly house, and most of all - the owner and the staff. Sharon and her staff went above and beyond to ensure we're comfortable and to make our stay as magical and hassle-free as possible. The property is located in (very subjectively) better part of Taveuni, close to the airport (but you can't really hear the planes), near a really nice golden sand beach with large reef for snorkelling, and good access to all key attractions. I also loved that the meal plan/dinners were not compulsory like in many other hotels in Fiji. It's so nice to eat outside and there's a lovely restaurant with a beach/sunset view 10min walk away down the hill.

Amazing villa, amazing hospitality - our expectations were all surpassed. Sharon and her team did everything to make us feel welcome, supported us to book tours & experience the beauty of Taveuni. The villa & views are in reality even more cosy then the picture shows. The food was excellent and fresh, we particularly enjoyed the local Fiji menu.

We had a fabulous holiday at Sharon and Grant’s bungalow. Lovely views and sunsets. Sharon is an excellent and innovative cook and her meals were one of the highlights of our stay. Don’t miss the Fijian dinner if it’s on! Freshly caught fish and fruit and vegetables from the garden are key ingredients. There are many enjoyable activities that Sharon helped us organise including fishing and birdwatching (both with expert local guides), diving (rainbow reef was beautiful) and a visit to Bobby’s Farm (run by a colourful local conservationist who gives a fascinating and entertaining tour of local plants, birds and foods). A good reef for snorkeling is a 10 minute walk down the hill off the beach. There are also local restaurants within walking distance. Sharon was quick to offer us lifts up and down the hill but we enjoyed the walk. Sharon and Grant are very friendly and kind as are the people employed at the retreat and we’d love to come back for another visit.

Be aware that WiFi is very slow, so download everything you need beforehand, most of the time only WhatsApp was working.

We had a wonderful stay at Vakanananu. It is one of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. Sharon and Grant are excellent hosts, very helpful and friendly. Sharon makes really nice breakfast, next to something savoury you will get local fruits that makes you spoiled for the rest of your life!! The kitchen has everything what you need, we really liked cooking our own dinner and eating at the veranda during the sunset.

Unfortunately we didn’t get to interact with Moana the dog. ;) Seriously, if you don’t want to go to a place you never want to leave, don’t come here!

Beautiful views all over, very peaceful place to be. The whole apartment is eco-friendly and sustainable. Sharon and Grant were the most helpful hosts for anything we needed. Special shout out to Peni who took the best care of us during our stay.

My stay at Sharon and Grant's was perfect from a to z. The villa is very well furnished, decorated, everything is clean and good quality, the view is beautiful. Sharon is an amazing cook, the breakfasts were incredible. They did everything to make my stay perfect, and organized my activities on Taveuni. Thank you also to Penny for his great care and massage :)! Sote tale!

Nothing! Couldn't fault it.

Stunning location with fabulous views over the island and ocean, beautiful accommodation with great facilities and a high attention to detail that made it a real pleasure to stay here. We were treated with an exceptional level of service for the duration of our stay that went far above and beyond our expectations. Sharon and Grant were incredibly welcoming, and their staff provided us with outstanding service, as well as helping us plan our activities and trips around the island. They even put on a Fijian night and kava ceremony just for us on our last night. The food was excellent, much of it home grown. We can honestly say if we didn't live 20 hours flight away we would be back every year!

Had the most AMAZING stay at Vakanananu Retreat! Sharon & Grant were the most friendly, helpful and accomodating hosts we could have ever imagined! The house itself is beautiful and clean, with a lovely modern bathroom, well stocked kitchen and amazing views from the balcony. Such a great location as well with the beach and restaurants at the bottom of the street. We felt so spoilt staying here, Sharon & Grant went the extra mile and then some, from having homemade bread waiting for us, chai and homemade sweets almost every afternoon, to organising all our activities for us, giving us lifts and making packed lunches for big days and beautiful dinners on the balcony. All the staff were absolutely lovely! Big shoutout to Bubba who drove us around and took us out fishing, an absolute legend! I would definitely recommend staying here! And Taveuni is definitely worth the trip it is an amazing island!

Already the landing on Taveuni is spectacular, not to mention the friendly welcome, the beautiful house and the tropical garden. The view is simply unique. The hosts (Sharon and Grant) are very very friendly, they are very helpful with any request, be it rental cars, tips etc.... The delicious breakfast on the terrace is the perfect start to the day. Sharon is a wonderful cook and baker. She baked a delicious birthday cake for us. Housekeeping has always worked wonderfully after consulting with us. We would love to come back anytime and can recommend Vakanananu Retreat 100%.

Our favourite stay in Fiji! Thanks to the amazing staff who looked after us. The day trips and kava night were so much fun and we loved having dinner on the balcony. The view is incredible! Vinaka to Lucy, Penny, Bubba, Sharon and Grant for making sure we had a memorable trip. We hope to return one day!
