Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandWifi and TV unavailable first night Our pool and courtyard needed maintenance badly especially the gate which was unable to be closed. The restaurant menu could do with some extra items added. For 3 nights some of the menu unavailable so not a lot of choices. Menu was very basic.
Our room was very nice and very comfortable. The Manager was very helpful and got us her wifi modem and helped to get the TV to work. We thoroughly enjoyed the big pool area which was kept beautifully. The garden setting is lovely. We also thoroughly enjoyed our walks along the beach. The restaurant setting is lovely.

New ZealandWifi was not available due to a technical problem and with it being Christmas-week it took time to get a technician in to fix it. Also, of course, Fiji is still on 3G.
Great chef, food was always well prepared and presentable. Great staff, we were made very welcome and everyone was positive and cheerful. The owner brought his family to stay over Christmas and it was exciting to hear his plans for developing the resort for the future. The view from the dining room was awesome - top dollar - and the pool was a nice size. Snorkelling off the beach was amazing and the beach is nice sand and slopes very gently so able to go a long way without getting into deep water. The gardens are amazing, very well kept with some marvellous planting and being "in the jungle" was great - loved the frogs at night - one came and sat in our garden every evening :) Short walk along the beach took us to the neighbouring resort for lunch one day, but we were not impressed so didn't go again.

United KingdomA lot of the facilities were very tired and needed a facelift, which we understand is happening soon. We also weren't prepared for the final few kilometres off-road drive to the resort. Fortunately the road was dry but it could have been tricky if very wet.
A beautiful location and friendly staff. Although the menu was limited the food was very good.

AustraliaThe toilet and shower need some renovation. The staff are aware and have explained that it is planned to make the reno needed and it was delayed due to covid, which is sensible. Other than that, the room is spacious and bed is comfy. A bit far from the airport and denarau. We hired a car so no big dramas. Last couple of kms to the hotel is a bit challenging, literally in the jungle, I personally loved it as it makes you feel close to nature, just need to be aware as it can be quite slippery when it rains.
Amazing location, right on the beach. Beautiful sunsets, great for couples. Staff are super friendly and will do all in their capacity to assist and make your stay special. Food is good and prices are reasonable. Room is very nice and with beautiful gardens everywhere.

AustraliaWas not as advert. No tv. Staff were not very friendly and getting information or even finding them was hard. Lots and lots of maintenance needed on the buildings. 4 staff doing the gardens every day but nobody fixing buildings etc. Examples: villa pool missing tiles, villa garden needed weeding and cleaning including all furniture. Shower taps coming out of the wall, no TV as advertised. Main area, pictures off walls, rusty nails sticking out of the decking, deck post rope holder log not secured and broken,. Lots and lots of H&S issues that could be easily sorted but it seems that the garden is more inportant. No prices on dinner menu,s....overall needs staff retraining and a big maintance job doing on the buildings. Until this is complete I would downgrade its rating.
Dinners were nice, garden pleasant and beach very nice.

United KingdomThe resort is SUPER quiet, not many staff around during the day to get drinks from the bar. It's really off the beaten track, so not much to do and nowhere is really accessible on foot. Lots of mosquitoes (which I expected due to the jungle location). Room not cleaned daily and there were lots of ants in the room.
Comfortable room, super friendly staff and the best breakfast pancakes I have ever eaten.

United StatesWe could not get a cellular connection at the resort on our phone. It appears only Vodafone works there (barely), but not Digicel. There was no Wifi in the room, however the hotel provided us a Vodafone Wifi router whose Internet connection cut in and out. To get to the resort, one has to take a long 4 km dirt road off the main highway -- it can be fun for some, inconvenient for others. If one wants to go the city and back it can add around 40 min to the trip.
The staff at Wellesley Resort were excellent -- friendly, caring and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The room was large and comfortable, and the a/c worked well. The breakfasts and dinners were great -- the chef listened to our request and customized the preparation for us. There is a lovely, scenic beach just outside the resort, great for bathing and snorkeling. The hotel arranged an onsite antigen COVID test for our travel, which was reasonably priced (FJD $45/person) -- the results came back within 3 hours.

New ZealandThe staff are not particularly friendly or capable and were rarely available. This began at check in when they couldn’t locate our booking info or documents despite the fact we were one of only 2 couples staying there at the time. Our arrival RAT test was also rushed (waiting 1 minute after it hit the test before it was binned, not 15) so not 100% sure the test was accurate, very concerning. They seemed to get irritated if you asked them any questions about activities or experiences outside of the hotel and also appeared very annoyed if you chose to skip meals there in favour of better options elsewhere. The food options offered were extremely limited and very expensive for what you got, mostly soggy sandwiches and at times seemed like the food was reheated. We were also not 100% convinced the water we were given in our room was store bought. The bottles had their seals broken most days, quite dodgy. Since you can’t drink from the tap it’s probably best you bring your own instead. The property itself, whilst located in a beautiful and remote space, is in SERIOUS need of some proper care and maintenance. The pools were dirty (both the public and villa ones), the rooms (especially the bathrooms) are very dated and had technical issues like water pressure and heat. The wooden stairs to access the main pool were completely rotten and roped off, a massive health and safety issue and the sun beds were old and many of them were mouldy. Overall the place looks tired and unloved, the owners need to invest some money into the place as it has the potential to be so much nicer than it’s current condition, in its current state it’s not worth the money we paid. Would highly recommend hiring a car as it is extremely remote and difficult to get around without transport. If you book please don’t take the photos as true liking, the place is far what what it used to be. Which is sad.

United StatesWe booked two rooms, one for me and my husband and one for the kids. The bathroom in the kids'one was small and a bit old.
Very quite resort, located in a remote, but very beautiful area - if you book a taxi, make sure it is not a small car, since there's a little bit of off road in the mountain before descending to the coast and getting to the resort. The small size of the resort make the place very safe for kids too. The staff is really nice and always very helpful. They accomodated all our requests and helped out in organizing trips and entertainments. There are no other restaurants or grocery stores nearby, so we had all our meals at the bar: food was good and menu varies. Buying snacks during trips and bring them back in your room is definitely a good idea. I asbolutely adored our room's bathroom: large and bright, Pina Colada flavoured toilettries included, and the private shower in the backyard a real treat! The beach is 2 minues walk from the rooms and the view from the swimmingpool is very scenic. We had a really good time there!
