How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

I ordered a room with a view over the city, and got a confirmation from Booking.com that the room (with view) was confirmed. However the Hotel had not received any information about having a view over the city. Instead we got a room with a view over the backyard, witch was quite claustrophobic. But when I informed the Hotel, and shoved them the confirmation from Booking.com they changed our room the next day. So this was "a mistake" done by booking.com, and not the Hotel.
The hotel is very central in Torshavn, and within walking distance to most interesting places in the city. People are really friendly, and it's easy to get in contact with locals.

Tired carpet in hallways- looking worn and not super clean. Don’t stay in Torshavn on Saturday night thinking you can do things on Sunday. On Sunday everything is closed! Be aware!!
Right in the heart of Torshavn. Helpful staff and good breakfast. Comfortable bed and windows you can open.

Breakfast was good but could've been better if the eggs were warm.
Wonderful location and friendly staff. Loved the view over part of the Old Town.

Could not fully open the window in my room. The shower did not have its own shower tray as it was at ground level, and I always managed to have water outside the shower door. Floorheating however managed the little issue easily.
The hotel is very central and the rooms is spacious. The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast outstanding. I had salmon every day, which was delicious.

The location is perfect! A few minutes walk to the centre of Tórshavn. It is in a nice and quit street located. There is also a shop next to the hotel, so if you want to get any things for during the day you can get them there and off you go on an adventure.

The bathrooms are tiny, but I guess adequate for a few days.
We stayed here our first three nights in the Faroes. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, but small. The morning breakfast was abundant and good. The restaurant was a good value.

The room including the toilet, is basic. The breakfast is simple. I spent less than 11 hours in the hotel and was not able to give further comments.
It is close to everything: the old town and the port. As our flight was delayed, the receptionist waited for us till 11 pm.

Rooms are very basic but fine if you're out doing activities all day. The bathrooms really need a fan system or ventilation as they get very steamed up after showers. The pillows - a small detail but they need to invest in new ones. They're like beanbags and not big enough or very comfortable.
Really convenient location, clean and modern interior. Breakfast spread was very reasonable, better than the 4 star Hotel Foroyar I tried beforehand too, with fresh pancakes, scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, sausages and beans.

Location was perfect for exploring the area around the waterfront. We could walk to ferry restaurants, churches, fort. A little crazy to get to in middle of "downtown" area. You have to park in public lot about 3 blocks away. You have to set a clock on your car to show when you got to lot, then you have hours free parking. But you don't have to pay overnight...a little confusing but we basically never had to pay to park.

It eas not veru clean and there was no fridge in the room The bed were not made snd the garbage cans never emptied. Nor did they change the sheets and towels. í stayed four nights
