Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Close to the airport. Room was small but contained all the facilities I needed during my stay. The view from the room was tremendous. The habour and the hills in the back.

LatviaWe have some problems in communication with owner but finally all our questions and needs were solved and we were fully satisfied.
It was like a dream house. The location and view was exceptional. Also the place is very good, there are several shops nearby, it is rather close to airport and you could get to it by bus. We had all necessary inside, utensils, hair dryer etc. I like very much that the place is allow you feel yourself independent, like in your own home. Also the price was very good, We have some problems in communication with owner but finally all our questions and needs were solved and we were fully satisfied.

SpainSúper comfortable stay with all the things needed to visit the country. Kitchen fully equipped and heating for the room. There are supermarkets nearby, also, we could go to some hiking routes without even picking the car. By the way, we rented an electric car without knowing… lucky us there were 2 electric car chargers only 15min away walking. The capital was 40min away in car. Klaskvik 1:10h. Perfect location to visit Vagar, Mykines and nearby. Also, the airport was close enough for us to return walking. Kristjan, the house owner was super friendly and helpful. (The only thing that I would tell anyone is to remind him some days before that you want the double bed, if not, it maybe will only be available the bulk beds). But everything was wonderful

AustriaAs others mentioned, walls are thin but it's not like this should be a deal breaker for anybody traveling. I'm often times a flat sleeper but I didn't have a single sleepless night, even with noisy neighbors. It's not a dislike of it by any means; simply a heads-up.
It's a very well maintained, quite perfectly located little housing. The view from the room up toward the distant hills and over the harbor is nice, but you're meant to explore the island and everything it has to offer. Don't just stay there and watch TV, go out and find the best places, with Kristjanshavn being your starting point. It's meant for showering, sleeping and perhaps cooking a bit - and for that, it's a perfect fit.

Czech RepublicThere was some weird smell in the apartment - we cannot find any source of that. When we came, there was banana peel in the oven and the toilet was not flushed. No instructions - we have to write SMS to the owner for wifi password. You can hear everything from the outside - your neighbours, people close to the building and cars passing by. Some teenagers likes to drive their motoscooters close by in the night - they woke us up several times. Bed is too much soft and jumpy.
You got own little apartment for reasonable price - that is the main pro. It's close to the airport and to the hike "lake above sea". Free parking and wifi included. Also basic equipment for cooking and eating, including little oven. Basic shower gel is also available. The owner answers quickly on the phone.

GermanyKristjan, the host, is very friendly and supportive. Unfortunately we didn't meet in person due to a sudden sickness. Normally, Kristjan would come around. The Check-in process could not be easier. There is a simple post-it sticker with your name on it welcoming you. The rooms are simple but you have everything you need. It's a great accomodation, if you plan on hiking. The location is on the starting point of the Slave Cliff Hiking Trail, where you can reach the Lake above the Ocean, Slave Cliff and Bøsdalafossur waterfall within an hour. Kristjanshavn is situated five minutes away from the airport, even though it's very quiet. There are only about 5 to 6 planes per day reaching Faroe Islands.

NetherlandsWalls are really thin so you will sense some portion of vibration/sounds coming from daily routines of your neighbors
Basic accommodation in comfortable location close to the airport, couple of grocery stores, gas station and few major attractions. It is not a five star hotel, but if you spend more time outside exploring islands and come back just to sleep than it is a good choice that will not burn a hole in your pocket. Equipped with stove, fridge, cutlery, etc.
